One of my favorite parts of teaching dance is watching dancers uncover what makes them unique.

When they stop trying to move like everyone else and start embracing their own movement quality, real growth begins.

I truly believe every dancer has something special to offer.

Sometimes they just need someone to believe in them before they’re able to see it for themselves.

And that’s why helping dancers uncover their uniqueness will always matter to me as a dance educator. 🫶🏾

I’m normally one to be super protective over my fam moments because how much I cherish them but I am just in awe of God and what he’s done in our family.

So I wanted to share some snippets of some pretty special moments that are close to my heart because I’m so proud of how far we’ve come and so grateful to be a mama and step mama. Being a step mama to our kiddos has given my life a new purpose. They already have an amazing mama but to be able to see them grow is so special.

And this little baby boy that made me a mama…he has made our family complete and has brought so much joy to our lives. He is the best fit to our puzzle of crazy and I am so in love.

Motherhood is the best hood and through the highs and lows I am so grateful. Through my pregnancy and feeling like a roly-poly to birth when I had to get an unexpected c-section, to the moments that make my cry with joy, these kiddos are everything to me and I’m just overwhelmed by Gods grace.

Lastly, this beautiful man that I get to do life with…I’m so blessed. I never thought I’d be able to experience the love he shows me daily. We have come so far and it gets better each day. I will always fight for our fam and I’m grateful I get to fight for our fam with him! God is so faithful!

Toddler Jams is always a good time! 😂🤎

Some days we’re dancing, some days we’re crawling in the opposite direction, and some days we’re just figuring it all out as we go! 😂 Either way your toddler is welcome here!

But that’s the beauty of it! Through obstacle courses, music, creative movement, and lots of play, our little movers are building coordination, confidence, and a love for dance!

And at the end of the day, everybody gets a sticker for being brave, trying new things, and showing up as their wonderful little selves! 🥹⭐️

Last night’s combo was about loving out loud… and wow…did I feel that.

I’ve been nervous to post dancing videos again since having my son. I feel like such a new version of myself as a dancer now. My body is different. I’m different. And honestly, I think my relationship with dance is different too.

I’m not as worried about what I look like anymore. I’m not trying to be perfect. I just want to FEEL it. To move. To be free. To love my life and the people in it out loud.

And it feels so special!!!

Dance is so good for my soul. Always has been. Always will be. 🤎

Dancers, wherever you train and whatever your goals are this year, be intentional with every class. Work on your technique. Explore your artistry. Build your confidence. Be teachable. Take the correction. Try again. And pleaseeee don’t forget the JOY. 🤎

You don’t have to dance like anyone else. Work hard, stay open, and steward what God has already placed in YOU.

Dance parents… this one’s for you. 🤎

The driving. The waiting. The forgotten tights. 😂 The sacrifices nobody really sees.

There’s no perfect way to do this.

Cheer loud. Listen. Encourage. Skip the comparison. And make the choices that are best for your dancer and your family.

Protect the joy. Protect your family’s rhythm. And remember…your dancer doesn’t need a perfect dance parent.

They just need YOU in their corner. 🤎
