so lucky to have caught hurvin anderson’s tate britain exhibition’s last day. curated by @dominique_h_m_ @laura_laing @jasminechohan 👏 the exhibition is a formal and emotional tribute to anderson’s capacity to express longing, displacement, and exclusion while weaving them with a sense of belonging, beauty and collective memory. he is also a brilliant painter. by @ap_office

Opening 10th September at KIN, an exhibition on the work of the late Belgian painter, Michel Frère. Frère had a meteoric career of 15 years starting in the mid-1980s, that ended with his premature death at age 38 in 1999. The exhibition at KIN brings together emblematic large-scale paintings, along with a sculpture, a number of smaller works, and archival material from his studio, offering a fuller sense of both Frère’s practice and the period his work and life embody. The exhibition is a first attempt at a new reading of that work, based not only on its formal singularity but on the questions it carries, from informal art to queer culture. @kinbrussels

Wat een memorabele opening van de 10e Biënnale van de Schilderkunst! Bedankt om er samen met ons een prachtige dag van te maken.

Samen met het Roger Raveel Museum en mudel organiseert MDD deze zomer de 10e Biënnale van de Schilderkunst. In MDD onderzoekt de tentoonstelling, gecureerd door Anne Pontégnie, hoe kunstenaars de grenzen van de schilderkunst verleggen. Materialen zoals kralen, glas, textiel en keramiek worden ingezet om te ontsnappen aan de moderne picturale ruimte.

This summer, MDD is proud to present the 10th edition of the Biennial of Painting, organised together with the Roger Raveel Museum and mudel. At MDD, the exhibition, curated by Anne Pontégnie, explores how artists expand what painting can be. Materials such as beads, glass, textiles, ceramics and plastic are used to escape the modern pictorial space.

Very excited to finally open the 10th Biennial of Painting on 28 June.

For this anniversary edition, Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens, Roger Raveel Museum and mudel once again join forces to explore how painting continues to expand beyond its traditional boundaries. Curated by Anne Pontégnie, the exhibition at Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens brings together artists who challenge the idea of painting as something confined to canvas. Textile, ceramic, glass, wax, plastic, beads and stone become means to think about image-making, memory, identity, place and belonging in new ways.

The exhibition features works by Carla Accardi, Igshaan Adams, Olga de Amaral, Carlotta Bailly-Borg, Lynda Benglis, Julien Creuzet, Rachel Eulena Williams, Kazunori Hamana, Lubaina Himid, Kapwani Kiwanga, Patricia Leite, Matthew Lutz-Kinoy, Fernando Marques Penteado, Eric N. Mack, Katja Mater, Guy Mees, Hana Miletić, Roger Raveel, Rosemarie Trockel, Erika Verzutti and Pei-Hsuan Wang.

Join us for the opening on Sunday 28 June, from 11 am to 5 pm.

🚐 A shuttle service between the Kiss & Ride at Gent-Sint-Pieters Station and Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens will be provided at 2 pm and 3 pm.

Today, Numéro art steps into the monumental world of British sculptor Thomas Houseago @thomas_houseago_studio_ through his first exhibition in Spain, presented in the private garden of Banca March @bancamarch in Madrid. Bringing together large-scale works in dialogue with nature, the exhibition transforms the hidden landscaped space into a contemplative open-air environment where Thomas Houseago’s raw and deeply human sculptures can be experienced beyond the walls of the museum.

Set within a 1,600m² garden usually closed to the public, the presentation creates an intimate encounter with the artist’s practice, where pathways, vegetation and shifting light become part of the experience itself. Far from an institutional setting, the exhibition reveals another dimension of Thomas Houseago’s monumental forms, both vulnerable and powerful, organic and theatrical.

Curated by Anne Pontégnie @ap_office , the exhibition also marks the centenary of Banca March, reflecting the institution’s longstanding commitment to cultural access and public engagement through this exceptional opening of its private headquarters garden.

The exhibition runs from May 1st to October 30, 2026.
