My dad came to England 60 years ago during the windrush, to make a better life for himself and his family. He worked several jobs to be able to provide a home for his wife and family. He retired when I was born, so that he didn’t have to put me in daycare, he even learned how to do my hair into little pigtails and took me to school every single day. Even to this day, people from my primary school remember my dad.

Having an older father can be tough at times. He can be very strict and old fashioned, sometimes we don’t agree on things. He didn’t and still doesn’t get why us “young people” love to spend so much money on clothes and go on holidays lol. But as I’ve gotten older, I have learnt to appreciate who my dad is and realised he wasn’t nagging me but teaching me what is important in life: Family, love and respect.

Whenever I feel down or feel like quitting, I remember how much my dad has sacrificed for me, how supportive he has been over the years, and I remember how much I want to make him proud, and so I push on, never quit because he taught me better.

I am proud to have a dad who is so selfless, caring, funny, stubborn and understanding. He has set the bar extremely high for what type of man I ought to marry, and I can only pray that I have a husband who is even half the man my dad is. I’m grateful to have been raised by such a strong man and for all the lessons he has taught me. I am honoured to be your daughter and I hope I make you proud.

My dad is a massive goofball and the type that doesn't mind being embarrassing in public 😂 I get embarrassed too however he always manages to make me laugh so I'm not complaining 😅 he is the king of dad jokes which can be so cringe sometimes but I wouldn't want to have it any other way :) Aside from that he is also one of my biggest supporters which I'm so grateful for. Happy Father's Day!

Happy Fathers day to all dads out there and even to single mums whose holding it down for their families.

No one prepares anyone to be a dad, there's no path way and blue print to follow as everyone journey is different.

The moment we think we figured out something, another one appears.

The expectations for us is to be strong, but also it's OK to show emotions, be soft and know that we are only humans. As long as we're trying everyday, no matter how thats is. You're doing great!!

My dad is a tough love kinda guy. Me and my sister as teenagers would always take it the wrong way and think he was out here ruining our lives lol.

Despite this, I always know that he loves us so much and that he just wants us to be the best version of ourselves. He is my singing partner, chauffeur and chef and my first best friend.

Whatever happens, whatever disagreements we may have, no matter what anyone says, my dad is an incredible girl dad!

I am so grateful to have him by my side. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without you Papa, thank you for choosing me to be your daughter.

Dad you're my inspiration, you give me more than just the materialistic things, you have shown me morals, loyalty and values that will stick with me forever. Your loving kindness makes my heart melt and i am so happy that you chose to be my daddy and i chose to be your baby, now that i am in adulthood i dont need you as much as i needed you before but you still mean more than the world to me. Pops, padre my sunshine when its raining i appreciate you more than you will ever know my twin flame, I will continue to make you proud for the rest of my life

There’s so many things that I could ramble on about when it comes to my Dad. But in short, he’s the coolest, funniest and most chilled person I know

My Dad and I share many common interests, top 3 being food, cars and sleep 🍚🚙💤

From a young age, I remember my Dad would pull up to Kampi in his blue BMW with a boot full of food, a memory that I’m sure I share with a lot of people. And when I passed my driving test, he bought me a blue Fiesta, almost as if I was my Dad in training 😂

My Dad is someone who always makes time for family, is open to talk to anyone and everyone, buss a joke or 2 & always radiate a warm aura, the things I love about him most ❤️

it’s nice being able to bond with my daughters and know what their interest are. Having a daughter is my responsibility to be able to teach her that she can do anything and be as good as a boy. We bond over the things we like and explore it as well. Seeing my older daughter grow up and her having the independence is such a great accomplishment. They’ve taught me that compassion and encouragement is such a huge thing to have and share with your daughters. As well as breaking the barrier that society has with women, I encourage my daughters to explore hobbies and sports that are meant for “men”. It’s an important thing to be a feminist and be a good role model for your daughters.
