Some celebrations have a way of making time stand still. Where elegance feels effortless, laughter comes naturally and every moment becomes a memory worth holding onto. A little nostalgia and so much love for A+D this day at Café Brauer!

husband & wife! by @aparisevent

There is a certain kind of elegance that doesn’t need to announce itself.

Katie & Doug’s wedding felt distinctly that way — grand in scale, yet remarkably intimate. A beautiful Chicago church ceremony followed by an evening at the JW Marriott, with every part of the day carrying a sense of timelessness and quiet sophistication.

And Katie’s dress embodied it perfectly.

Clean architectural lines, a sculpted strapless silhouette, and a beautifully full skirt — modern in its restraint, but with the presence of something you could imagine walking through a European cathedral decades ago. No excess. Nothing competing for attention. Just extraordinary simplicity, proportion, and movement.

It’s also how I want the photographs to feel.

I don’t believe a wedding should become a photoshoot simply because a photographer arrives. I prefer to create the conditions for beautiful photographs rather than manufacture every moment.

Sometimes that means choosing the light, adjusting a hand, refining a composition, or quietly giving Katie and Doug enough direction that they never feel lost in front of the camera.

And then, I disappear.

The embrace happens. Someone laughs. A father sees his daughter as a bride. A glance lasts half a second longer than expected.

Those are the photographs I’m ultimately waiting for.

A little direction. A great deal of observation. And enough restraint to allow the wedding to remain a wedding.

There’s something about film that already feels like a memory.

Photographing Maria in her wedding dress on Kodak Portra 400 felt almost dreamlike — the softness, the quiet grain, the way the light wrapped around her. Nothing too perfect. Nothing too polished. Just something beautifully, unmistakably real.

That’s what I love about film.

You don’t see the photograph the moment you take it. There’s no screen to look at, no instant reassurance. You trust the light, the moment, and your instinct — and then you let it go.

Weeks later, it comes back to you.

And somehow, it never feels like just a photograph. It feels like opening a box of memories you had almost forgotten. The colors are softer. The imperfections remain. Time seems to live inside the image.

Maria, in her dress, on her wedding day.

A fleeting moment, preserved exactly the way I want to remember it — soft, imperfect, romantic, and completely hers. by @aparisevent

Some weddings are tame and some are just WILD!
A large wedding party.
A ready-to-celebrate crowd.
A packed dance floor with guests joining the band on stage.
From start to finish, this 7/11 wedding was big energy, big personalities and big FUN!
Cheers to A+N!

Stephanie and Scott’s wedding at Morgan’s on Fulton unfolded amid candlelight, soft pink florals, and all their favorite people.

I loved how much thought went into the details of this day, but even more, how quickly those details became the backdrop for what really mattered — the hugs, the laughter, the people gathered around them, and all the little moments in between.

One of the couple’s requests was an elegant dinner to have thoughtful conversations for 50 of their friends! We designed a day that the couple said “felt like we were guided on a luxury tour”! It was so special making this day happen for two outstanding individuals.
