Hi there!

Looking for the perfect phrase to use in any situation? Look no further than "the ball is in your court"! - (Мяч на твоей стороне⚽⚾🥎)

This expression is all about taking control and putting the responsibility on someone else:) You can use it when you've done your part and now it's up to someone else to make a move.

Here are some examples:

🚩 I've done my part, now the ball is in your court to make the final presentation.
🚩 Your boss has asked you to come up with a plan for the project. The ball is in your court now.
🚩I've asked her out on a date, but she hasn't responded yet. The ball is in her court.

So next time you're in a situation where you've done what you can and it's up to someone else to take the next step, remember to use the classic phrase "the ball is in your court" and let the responsibility fall where it may!

Hi!

In this episode, we're discussing the expression 'to cut to the chase', which means to get to the point without wasting time on unnecessary details.

Here are some examples:

🚩Let's cut to the chase: do you want to go out for dinner tonight or not?

🚩I don't have time for small talk, so let's cut to the chase and discuss the main issue.

🚩The presentation was too long, so I asked the speaker to cut to the chase and summarize the key points.

🚩Don't be afraid to use 'to cut to the chase' to get to the good stuff. Life's too short to waste time on turtle food and budget reports!

WOOF!

✔HAIR OF THE DOG - ОПОХМЕЛ

This one means an alcoholic drink taken to cure a hangover. The phrase comes from the expression "hair of the dog that bit you", meaning that the best cure for what ails you is to have some more of it! Long time ago people actually believed putting the dog's hair into the wound would heal it.

👉 Honestly, I could use some hair of the dog.

👉Triple espresso or hair of the dog?

Drinks are on the house guys, but don't be greedy!

Bye for now!
