🇺🇸 A flag with a history. A moment our students will remember.

This week, Apopka came together at Piedmont Lakes Middle School for the raising of an American flag that once flew over the United States Capitol.

When the opportunity arose for Apopka Serves Foundation to help secure a flag flown over the Capitol for Piedmont Lakes, we were incredibly proud to play a small part in making this moment possible.

And what a moment it became.

Students, educators, veterans and community leaders stood together as the flag was raised over the school — connecting generations of service, citizenship and community right here in Apopka. ❤️🤍💙

A special thank you to the City of Apopka, Mayor, and City Commissioners for joining us and showing their support. Their presence, alongside our veterans, school leadership and students, made the morning even more meaningful.

These are the moments that remind us why Apopka Serves exists: to find meaningful ways, big and small, to show up for the community we call home.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped make this ceremony so special — and maybe just a little proud knowing Apopka Serves had a hand in bringing a piece of U.S. Capitol history home to Apopka. 🇺🇸

From the U.S. Capitol to Piedmont Lakes. That’s a pretty special journey.

First fundraiser of the year was a success but of course it was! Thanks to our local Hurricanes and @apkserves , our leaders got to enjoy a meal together + compete in some Disney trivia. Best night? We'd say so. Thanks for the collaboration and can't wait to come back! ❤️ #community #fundraising #apopka by @apkserves

ATTENTION APOPKA.

Teachers. Former Students. Parents.
Grandparents. Friends of Teachers.

This one’s for you!

For the next few weeks, EVERY drink you buy at the bar at Halls On 5th earns you a raffle ticket.

Write down the name of your favorite Apopka public school teacher, the school they teach at, and their phone number.

On Monday, August 3rd, we’ll draw 5 names and, with the incredible support of the Apopka Serves Foundation, we’ll be gifting five local teachers by clearing up to $500 from each of their Amazon classroom wish lists.

No speeches.
No nominations.
No essays.

Just OUR community showing up for the people who show up for our kids every single day.

Now here’s your assignment:

👇 TAG your favorite Apopka public school teacher in the comments. Come in for a drink and make sure you have their info.

Let’s flood this comment section with the names of the teachers who change lives. Because if Apopka can fill a bar…
we can fill five classrooms.

Drink local. Give local. Change a classroom.

A FRESH new mural just dropped downtown 🎨

Proud to help fund this new downtown mural with the Apopka Chief, brought to life by artist @benkellerct , and made possible through the vision and leadership of @apopkamurals , who continue creating space for art and a more beautiful downtown Apopka.

This is what community looks like.

Color. Care. Collaboration.

If you believe in projects that make Apopka better, we’d love to have you involved. Comment or DM us to learn how to support the work Apopka Serves is doing in our city.

Share this if you believe public art belongs in every downtown.

Apopka isn’t short on generosity — sometimes it just needs a bridge.

One neighbor had a stove, a fridge, a washer and dryer sitting unused.
Another neighbor needed all of it to start fresh.

Apopka Serves became the conduit.
The trailer rolled. Hands showed up. Doors opened.
What was extra for one family became essential for another.

This is what community looks like when it moves.
When neighbors see each other.
When help doesn’t sit still.

Apopka can — if Apopka Serves. 💙 taken in Apopka, Florida by @apkserves

The Apopka Run Club and @apkserves are hitting the streets for the 49th Annual Christmas Parade 🏃‍♂️🎄 Their mission? Save the parade from that sneaky Grinch that’s always hanging around Fifth Street.

Stick around—maybe he’ll pop by later! Sal & Izzy are going live at 6:30PM and trust us, you won’t want to miss their set… or the Grinch’s grand entrance 💚🎶 taken in Propagate Social House by @apkserves
