I started figure modeling a year ago today. It has been an exciting and challenging outlet to explore physicality and has helped me love and care for my body in new ways. This is one of my favorite sketches from awhile back drawn by the talented, effervescent @gregojira by @aplaythingoutofromance

What began as recalling my morning and ended in a tantrum? A tiny impro for a tiny stage.

i've taken a decent amount of pride? (feels like a silly word) in some of the videos i've made and shared on here, but i haven't felt the desire for some time. for now it's just a lazy old impro video that i stumbled upon from a phone set up in theaterhaus mitte with strange inconsistent lighting. sometimes this feels sad because i'm missing a sense of energy for play, at least in this medium and at least at this time, but also i'm glad to feel *somewhat* of a sense of distance from social media.

berlin, i think of y'all often. i normally don't feel "missing" when i settle into a rhythm somewhere, and i thought i was falling into this again, but the pangs hit for sure. i have no doubts to come back. the last months i've been feeling stronger and healthier and i can't wait to share a new self with you next year.

chicago, it's been sweet to connect more to this place where my parents have been living for the last 13 years. it's been full of side quests so far. i'm putting on pointe shoes and slipping into aerial silks. talking to strangers. resting. working. studying.

new york! i also think of you so much. oh how i wish we could be in multiple places at once.

i started building a website. the link is in my bio if you want to check it out. (it looks much better on a desktop. please don't look at it on your phone lol i already paid for a year so maybe next year i'll find another site that has better mobile settings)

About a year ago, some family gathered to go through everything my late grandfather had kept in his life. There was a lot. One of my favorite discoveries was this collection of valentines given to my great grandmother, Frances, when she was a child. I’m not sure if they’re all from the same year, but the one with the walking feet is dated 1926. 100 years ago. Going through physical photos and books and things at this gathering for my grandfather made me wonder what would be left behind when I die? Will people go through my “camera roll” on my iPhone? My Instagram grid, if that even still exists? Tragic. At least someone will find these and hopefully feel equally touched. May we cherish the people who come through our lives and the things they bring that live on through us. Happy Valentine’s Day. by @aplaythingoutofromance

Open Studio:Stage offers space for performance artists of all disciplines to share their short pieces - improvised or set, group or solo.
At the end of each session, all participants come together for a short collective improvisation.

OPEN CALL:
We especially welcome duets, group pieces and improvisation-based work.

Photos my grandpa took of my mom watching the first moon landing, 1969

This winter, I went to the Twin Cities to go through all the things left over after my grandpa died. Met family members I hadn’t seen since I was a child and started to learn about some family none of us had met. How special to be able to connect with traces of familial history. Will probably share more special trinkets on here over time, there were a lot of things!
