POSTS STORIES REELS

When I got married, it was during the height of the vintage craze. I didn’t know much about weddings, except that I wanted a bouquet made entirely of baby’s breath, tied with a white lace bow. Everyone thought the idea was outdated—something overdone back in the ‘70s I think—but it meant a lot to me. The day I got engaged, we happened to be at the flower market and I bought them. It became deeply sentimental. And, as we all know, what’s old always seems to come back around ~ hello en masse baby’s breath and roses 🤭

That’s exactly how I feel about lilies.

Last winter, I envisioned a concept centered entirely around lilies—a flower that sparks mixed feelings in people and for a long time myself included. But they now hold special meaning: my husband’s grandmother absolutely loved them and now, whenever I see lilies, I think of her. Flowers really do hold special meaning.

So I challenged myself to turn that love-hate flower into something bold, beautiful and modern. Here’s how it went with a little BTS too 🤗

Modern, whimsical and full of movement — this bridal bouquet was a dream to create 🤩
The inspo had a lot of whimsical, unique, trailing designs. Instantly, my mind lit up with ideas I’d been imagining for months, and I knew this wedding would be my canvas to try something new.

Armed with the colour palette and a shortlist of long-lasting blooms, I headed to the flower market, searching for those special textures and unexpected elements that elevate a design. I sketched, planned, and—as always—ran it past my sounding board aka hubby! Then it was go time.

I saved the bride’s bouquet for last. Usually, it’s my starting point. But this time, it felt like the grand finale 🥰 More of these, please! I’m completely in love 🫶

August slipped away 💫 by @apocketfulofroses

On the 22nd of August 2026, at the beautiful Merribee, Loch and Em said “I do.”

“And while marriage may not change what they already have, today is about honouring it.

Standing here, surrounded by the people who know and love them best, and saying, this is us. This is our life.

And from this day forward, it is officially, and wholeheartedly, we.”

Delicious, abundant flower towers are our ceremony feature of choice 🙌 They work for every colour palette, every backdrop, every season and frame each couple so beautifully. It’s giving romance ❤️‍🔥 by @apocketfulofroses

For the bride who wants a chic and considered bouquet I recommend the micro bouquet 🙌

I saw the hellebore and immediately knew she needed to be centre stage 😍 Added some fluffy hyacinth, peonies and cyclamen to complete this scrumptious look. by @apocketfulofroses

If I have sunflowers in my bouquet can they be used in my pressed flower frame? 🌻

Yes absolutely! Sunflowers are pressed either whole or petal by petal. They’re then reconstructed and we also use the petals in some pieces 😍

Do we care about buttonholes anymore? 🤔

I think so! But they’re not necessary.

What I do love about them is that they immediately signal what the occasion is. There’s no real other occasion where buttonholes are worn and I think that’s special 🤗 by @apocketfulofroses

Are you a gladiolus fan? 🙋‍♀️ I’ve been wanting to showcase their beauty somehow for a very long time. So when I got the opportunity to do a photoshoot, I knew they’d be perfect (pics to come!).

Gladiolus can sometimes be overlooked because we often see them at the market closed up and they’re widely used in corporate arrangements that way ~ not my fave 🤭

But when they finally open, they look so frilly and abundant and have the strongest blooms. They also come in many different colours!

After the shoot, I was left with so many Gladis. Once they bloomed I knew I wanted to challenge myself to use them en masse as THE feature.

It wasn’t easy! Balancing lines, ensuring movement and negative space. Pretty happy with how it turned out! Couldn’t resist some sunflower centres for contrast too 😍 by @apocketfulofroses
