I tried to recreate an Astro Boy comic book cover for a Blender Community Challenge.

I modeled, textured, and rigged Astro Boy in Blender. The fire boost effects are image planes I texture painted and removed the white background

For the buildings, I used project from view to apply the textures I painted in Affinity

For the clouds, I ended up using my reference image directly, since the clouds I made myself didn't look as good 🙁

Finally sat down and finished this Lawson + Mount Fuji scene for a Discord Blender challenge. Not 100% happy with the result, but happy to have finished it😅

Breakdown:
Front of the building was made using an Ian Hubert tutorial. The mountain was done in Gaea, and the bike was made following Polygon Runway’s tutorial. Trees are from Poly Haven. Reference photos came from Pinterest and other stock sites. Everything else was modeled by me, with textures from Poly Haven and BlenderKit
