Yesterday was one of the hardest days of my life. 💔 I never thought I’d have to stand there and watch them put my Pops in the ground. I kept looking at you wishing this wasn’t real, wishing I could stop time and have one more moment with you.I didn’t wanna say goodbye. I still don’t. 💔After everything you went through, all the pain, the sickness, the liver failure you kept fighting. You fought until you couldn’t fight anymore. And now I’m left trying to figure out how to live with this emptiness.Putting you in the ground made it feel real in a way I wasn’t ready for. I wanted to believe I’d wake up and this would all be a bad dream. I wanted more time. More conversations. More memories. I guess this where I say GOODBYE😒, Pops. I wish I could’ve had more time with you. I watched you fight through something that would’ve broken most people, and even when your body was tired. You kept fighting 😔 You kept holding on. You kept showing me what it meant to be strong, even when you were hurting.Liver failure took so much from you, but it could never take away who you were to me. I’ll always remember you as my father, and I’ll carry every memory, every conversation, every lesson, and even the moments that weren’t perfect. I just wish I could’ve had one more conversation with you. One more hug. One more “I love you.” One more chance to tell you how much you meant to me.we had our ups and downs but YOU MY FATHER !! I’m hurting in a way I can’t explain. Part of me keeps wishing this is a nightmare I’m going to wake up from. I wasn’t ready to lose you. And Pops, I need you to know something you didn’t lose your fight. You fought until your body simply couldn’t fight anymore. That matters. I’m going to carry you with me for the rest of my life. People tend to look at me and automatically think I ain’t Hispanic which is okay I ain’t concern at all. But what shocks people is when I say I’m FULL BORICUA 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷 I just barely speak it anymore… when I was young that was my first language 🤞🏼 but I lost it by not using as much. I wrote this song to embrace the Spanish culture whether your Mexican, boricua, Dominican etc 🇵🇷🖤.
