Love is what the world needs now. I got emotional telling my story a few weeks ago. But love is truly all that matters. And my answer to all that is going on in this world we are living will forever be L.O.V.E.

It is about that time! 💃🥳 We invite you to join us for an evening full of 🎤 spoken word, 🎶 music, 📖 storytelling, 🖼 visual art, and 🔊 open mic. With all that is going on in the world, we welcome you to raise your voices collectively. On Sunday, 11 October, we’ll come together at Labyrinth Amsterdam to explore the theme OUR COLONIAL HERITAGE.

Date: Sunday, 11 October 2026
Doors open: 06:00–07:00 PM
Program: 07:00–09:00 PM

About the curator
@appah.nl, also known as Nana Akua Appah, is a multidisciplinary artist on a journey to learn more about Our Colonial Heritage. Through this work, she hopes to inspire reflection, conversation, and positive change. She welcomes you to an evening aiming to encourage, inspire, and empower.

Arrive early if you’d like a table close to the stage, as some seats have a limited view. Food and drinks are available throughout the evening at your own expense, but please note that the kitchen closes around 9:30 PM.
This event is made possible entirely by volunteers. Any profit helps us continue creating evenings like this.

And for others and myself, the “WE” points to our Heavenly Father and loved ones who helped us make it to the end of the year. Love and grief are often spoken of as opposites, but they are deeply intertwined. Grief is the echo of love that remains when something precious has changed, ended, or slipped beyond our reach. And love, even in the midst of sorrow, continues to shape us, connect us, and remind us of what matters.

Together, we will make space for sorrow and healing, longing and remembrance, and the many ways love and grief move through our lives.

Hoe mooi!! Iedereen heeft een verhaal en Akua geeft middels kleine Poetry avonden, de mogelijkheid om mensen hun verhaal in dichtvorm of Spoken words, voor te dragen ; en ook tijdens de opnames! Zo mooi.
Vanavond is deze opname te zien in het TV programma Liefs je zus, van Family7

Het voelt heel erg ongemakkelijk voor mij om het onderstaande te delen. Soort van ‘he kijk mij eens’, maar ik deel het wel in het kader van ‘a city on a hill cannot be hidden’ en ‘als mensen niet weten wat je doet, kunnen ze ook niet voor je kiezen 😅’ . Het heeft me honderden euro’s gekocht om te werken aan mijn zichtbaarheid. Dus hier gaan we weer.

Tijdens het programma @liefs_je_zus zal er woensdag 17 december een repportage van mij terug te zien zijn over Love Letters.(Max 10 min) Misschien denk je, ‘Wat is Love Letters?? Tijdens de uitzending hoor je meer en anders kan je via instagram een recap terugvinden van de laatste 2 edities via @loveletters.experience

Het programma ‘Liefs je zus’ wordt uitgezonden op @family7_tv
om 21.00 uur en wordt de dag erna herhaald om 9.30 uur en 15.30 uur.

Als het je leuk lijkt kan je dit zien op:

The first of many events! @loveletters.experience.

It was an evening full off creativity: spoken word, art, kind and emotional words. Beautiful people who took their stage.

It was amazing. The first time for me to be there and definitely not my last.

Second time for me to be featured in the book presented during those evenings. Thank you for adding me @appaharts. It's amazing the atmosphere you create during those events 💕.

Also the first time I handed out a selfmade print. That was not easy and this weekend I'll tell you why! by @appah.nl
