Up, uptown tonight where we watched a Free stellar performance of Othello by the Classical Theatre of Harlem, outdoors at the Richard Roger’s Amphitheater off 5th Avenue & 125th Street. Beautiful set design, fantastic performances…which included a lovely, yet impromptu, fireworks display in a field behind us! The brilliant actress playing Emilia graciously paused her monologue long enough for the bursts to subside but short enough to pick up the beat & carry on! That’s the beauty of theater alfresco, you never know what else might take center stage! 🎭💥

July 7th: Running an errand in midtown Manhattan during the 42nd Street shut down, due to the reported ceiling collapses on the 21-26th floors of the Pfizer building reconstruction. Neighboring buildings were evacuated, 41-43rd streets barricaded, 2nd & 3rd Avenues closed off, and leaving some tourists in area hotels stranded on the streets, while the rest of the city rumbled on.

July 5th: It was a very busy weekend in this city! We managed to have a quiet 4th in our east side neighborhood, which hasn’t happened since 2012! Only appropriate to celebrate this 250th Anniversary in our historic New York Harbor so this year the grand celebration was downtown. And although we didn’t venture out, in all the crowds yesterday, we still chose to pay tribute with a quiet visit across the river and into Brooklyn the day after!⚓️🇺🇸⛵️
