Five years of being nominated for the Aloha ʻĀina REALTOR® Awards ❤️

What makes this award so special is that the nominations come directly from our clients. Every transaction is different, and not every journey is easy, but knowing that someone felt supported and cared for enough to take the time to nominate me means more than any award ever could.

I’m grateful for the trust my clients place in me, the relationships we’ve built along the way, and the opportunity to do what I love.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey. I’m truly humbled to receive this recognition for the fifth year. by @appletiare

Ever wonder what I did before Real Estate? ⤵️

This question pops up a lot, and I always love sharing this journey. My background was in retail for years. But everything changed when I became a mom. That pivotal moment inspired me to explore new job options, leading me to apply for a role working for developer in Kakaako back in 2015.

Little did I know, that step would connect me with incredible individuals both within and beyond the company, all nudging me towards the path of becoming a Realtor and I’m immensely grateful for taking that leap!

Fun fact: I’ve been working since I was 14 years old, with jobs like cleaning classrooms, IT help desk, exchange program coordinator, veterinarian assistant, barista and more. What ties them all together? They’ve taught me resilience, adaptability, and the value of exceptional service, qualities that I strive to bring to my role as a Realtor and business person every day. taken in Honolulu, Hawaii by @appletiare

Round two of photos 📸

One of the biggest surprises from Inman Connect was receiving Inman’s very first Community Leadership Award.

There are so many incredible Community Leaders who dedicate their time and energy to making Inman a better experience, so it was an honor to be recognized.

What made the award especially meaningful was that it reflected exactly why this year’s Inman felt so different.

The community came alive long before we arrived in San Diego. Instead of waiting for the conference to begin, people were already introducing themselves, asking thoughtful questions, sharing ideas, welcoming new members, and building genuine connections. By the time we met in person, it felt less like a room full of strangers and more like reconnecting with friends.

In an age of AI fatigue, it was refreshing to be surrounded by people who were craving the same thing I was: authentic conversations, genuine connections, and learning from one another face-to-face. It was a reminder that while technology continues to evolve, relationships are still at the heart of what we do.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, engaged, and made this community what it is. I’m grateful to be a small part of it and already looking forward to the next one. 💙

Part 3: Are we overthinking the conversation about accessibility in real estate?

Sometimes, as Realtors, we hesitate to ask certain questions because we’re afraid of saying the wrong thing or making someone uncomfortable. But when it comes to accessibility, should these conversations really be any different from the ones we already have with our buyers and sellers?

In Part 3 of my conversation with Barry Long, co-founder of Able Environments, we discuss why accessibility shouldn’t be an intimidating topic. It’s about asking questions, listening, understanding our clients’ needs, and building relationships. Isn’t that what we should already be doing?

And there’s another side to this conversation that I think is worth considering.

For sellers, identifying and highlighting accessibility features could help their property appeal to a wider pool of buyers. For buyers, having that information readily available could open up possibilities they may not have considered or make their search much more efficient.

The more we know about a property, the better we can market it, and the better we can match it with the right buyer.

Sometimes improving how we serve our clients isn’t about doing something entirely new. It’s about being more thoughtful with the information we gather and the conversations we’re willing to have.

Part 2: What if accessibility was part of every real estate search?

When we’re searching for homes, we can filter by bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage, parking, and so much more. But what about accessibility?

In Part 2 of my conversation with Barry Long, co-founder of Able Environments, we dive into how his company is working to bring accessibility information into the MLS and why this could make a meaningful difference in how people search for homes.

It’s something many of us in real estate may not think about until we’re working with someone who needs it.

This is exactly why I value conversations like these. They challenge us to think beyond how we’ve always done things and consider how we can better serve ALL of our clients.

I’d love to hear your thoughts. **Should accessibility features become a standard part of MLS listings?**

Part 1: Meet Barry Long of Able Environments

There’s so much more to real estate and sometimes the most interesting conversations come from people outside of our everyday circles.

I recently sat down with Barry Long (@talkandroll ), co-founder of @ableenvironments , whom I had the opportunity to meet through @inman.community in San Diego.

In Part 1 of our conversation, Barry shares how he came to use a wheelchair, the challenges that followed, and how those experiences eventually led him to co-found Able Environments.

His story is just the beginning. We also talked about topics that I think more people, especially those of us in real estate, should be paying attention to.

One of the reasons I value attending Inman Connect is the opportunity to meet people with different experiences and perspectives. There’s always something new to learn, and the more we understand, the better we can serve our clients.

And a special shoutout to @sofi for helping us capture this conversation on video! 🙌 by @appletiare

What an incredible game to share this with @akabazawakid and @sonystyle44
Although Gary is a broncos fan, he cheers for the Niners as his second team and they’ve always been super supportive of my love for football. I also love how supportive the niners fans were of Gary wearing a broncos shirt. ❤️❤️❤️

SOLD | Symphony Honolulu #3805

This one took patience, strategy, and a lot of work behind the scenes.

When buyers have plenty of condo inventory to choose from, making sure your property is one they want to see is key. For this home, that meant consistently highlighting what set it apart: a spacious 3-bedroom floor plan, three deeded parking stalls, storage, and beautiful ocean and Diamond Head views.

We also had another layer to navigate with ongoing association litigation, which can affect financing and narrow the buyer pool.

Every seller’s situation is different, and simply waiting for the market to improve isn’t always an option. Sometimes you need to sell in the market you’re in. That means marketing harder, understanding your competition, following up on every opportunity, listening to what buyers are telling you, and continuing to position the property around what makes it different.

A longer time on market doesn’t automatically mean another price reduction is the answer. It means looking at WHY the property isn’t selling and making informed decisions from there.

This property and the family behind it came to mean a lot to me throughout this process. I knew how special this home was to them, and I’m incredibly grateful they trusted me to see it all the way through.

Congratulations to my sellers! taken in Symphony Honolulu by @appletiare

When the house is nice and the outside is even better!
1127 Lauloa Street in Enchanted Lake is one of those homes where the outdoor space truly sets it apart.
Picture game days on the outdoor TV with Sonos speakers playing throughout, friends gathered around the built-in BBQ and wood-fired pizza oven, afternoons in the solar-heated pool, and evenings under the covered lanai with the Koʻolau mountains as your backdrop. And when the sun goes down, those mountain views take on a whole different feel.
And it’s not just about the backyard. The home was thoughtfully prepared for the market with a pre-listing inspection completed and items addressed, plus a brand-new roof, so much of the work has already been done.
4 bedrooms. 2 bathrooms. An incredible indoor-outdoor lifestyle. And a backyard designed for actually living in it.
