Nobility

I have thought excessively about Dorian Jackson, the student from NCAT who passed away saving his sister

And for each of those weeks, I was confused on exactly what I was feeling, besides the obvious empathy for his friends & family

I never had the chance to meet him nor did I have any presentable opportunity to do so in the future, so I struggled intensely to decipher what I was feeling

After more & more pondering, a few news headlines broke out

“LSU student brutally assaulted”—“Cornell student assaulted by 7 men”

And seeing these headlines whilst still being enraged about Nolan Wells, the anger only intensified

Man of the perpetrators in these cases were propped up as “upstanding men” with promising careers/futures/endeavors/athleticism

Deemed “Upstanding Men” based purely off of their relations to institutions & athletic programs, but in reality just dogs

However in recognition of this, my sentiments toward Dorian’s passing felt clear

What I felt was admiration—if nothing else, the one thing I am going to lead my life is, it’s as a man.

& not the version of “man” that is used colloquially. But what it means to me to be a man.

To be principled, having a core group of beliefs that are unable to be compromised on

To be noble & upstanding, but also gentle & warm with others. Able to both be someone who makes the person over to them want to be better but also grounded & comforting enough for others to feel at ease off presence alone.

I have never met Dorian, as a result any opinion I give of him or on him would be incomplete & borderline inappropriate to form.

But if anything, I know that saving someone else even when your own life is in danger is what a man would do, thru & thru.

And his passing aside, being able to (retroactively) witness the things that he accomplished. It became even more clear that this essence showed up with him in life too.

And that to me, is what a man should be. Institutional connections aside, positions of power aside.

And to witness that, when there’s so many people posturing themselves as men, exclusively due to their positions (and abuse) of power, is powerful. by @approachingdivinity

i am of the firm belief that no one is lazy

i don’t believe there is anyone on this earth that

genuinely has 0 desire to do something

i believe that laziness is mischaracterized, and in

actuality is one of two things

One, a fear of failure, followed by continual procrastination & avoidance

Two, split brain — the constant inflow of information, ideas, & concepts dilute the mind & cause those desires to act to be continuously diminished by the sheer overabundance of info that the mind is forced to process

neither of which are laziness

laziness is demonized

it’s deemed shameful to stand idly & not act

& while i do believe that shame can be a decent

motivator at times

more often than not, this shame will cause an even

greater fear of failure, more extreme acts of avoidance,

& more self numbing with distractions to relieve

oneself of the shame

i believe to stop laziness, you have to give yourself

grace

acknowledge that you weren’t doing as much as you

could have, but do not beat yourself up over it

it has happened, you can’t change it

do something now instead

& make sure to be more strict about what you give your

attention to, so your mind won’t split

“manifestation”

“manifestation” is marketed as trendy spell casting

“the best technique to manifest your dream life”

“want to manifest your ex back? here’s how”

“manifesting good grades next semester, like to claim”

none of this “manifesting”

this is people capitalizing on

other’s desperation as an opportunity to make money.

“manifesting” is not spell-casting, & it’s not some

intricate technique that requires insider steps

as above, so below

as within, so without

“manifesting” is not about making wishes

“manifesting is not creating your own reality”

“manifesting” is the concept of the outer world

reflecting the inner

for better or worse

and it’s done by everyone 24/7, whether consciously or

otherwise

if you’re messed up mentally & find yourself being

bitter/negative or whatever else

you’ll find that life is going to suck even more & make

you all the more bitter

like attracts like

you put our resentment & dissatisfaction

you will only find more and more things that make you

resentful and dissatisfied

it’s very much akin to a social media algorithm

you may hate certain content, but if you spend all your

time watching it, it will continue to be recommended to

you

to manifest, you do not need candles, & ouija boards or

anything remotely occult

you need to get right with yourself internally

you can’t be content or fulfilled if you spend all your

time being desperate, or resentful etc

instead of doing wishful thinking or endless spells/visu-

alizations

sit with yourself, and be content

you have every opportunity in the world

& every capability to be or do whatever it is that you

want

you are blessed & you literally have a higher power

flowing thru you

once you realize you have everything that you need

& that you are unequivocally blessed

you operate from a place of abundance

you operate from a place of detachment

things will work out for you because

they always do by @approachingdivinity
