thank you @radychildrens_oc for all the beautiful volunteering memories... 🧸💙🏥from starting off as a Child Life Playroom Volunteer 🎨 to ending my weekly volunteer role in the Inpatient Rehab Department helping out the PTs 👣, OTs 🤲🏼, and of course, SLPs 🍼!!! This was truly an unforgettable experience that I will always cherish moving forward in my career. April Estrada, M.A. CF-SLP 🎓💬✨After six long years at The Beach, I am honored to say I have officially graduated with my Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology!!! 🗣️🙌🏻 Here’s to all the countless early mornings, long nights, blood, sweat, and of course, tears! This experience challenged me in more ways than I ever could’ve imagined, but it also helped me grow into the person and future clinician I am today. 🧠🫁🫀Thank you @csulongbeach and @csulbslp for an unforgettable journey filled with lifelong friendships, incredible mentors, meaningful experiences, and lessons I’ll carry with me forever! my school SLP externship 🏫🍎📝👩🏻‍🏫🌈from small-group therapy sessions to whole-classroom push-in lessons, assessment days, and IEP meetings — these past few months serving as an SLP school student extern have been some of the most meaningful of my graduate journey! getting to be called “Ms. April” every day truly became the most rewarding title 💙 this experience allowed me to live out my dream of being a teacher, but now through speech, language, and all things communication!!!i feel so grateful to have worked with such incredible students, especially those who used a variety of means to communicate, including AAC. being trusted to support their voices, confidence, and growth is something i will never take for granted. each student, family, teacher, and staff member made this experience so special and reminded me why i chose this profession. 💬and of course, to my supervisor @nikkimedina — thank you for being such an amazing mentor throughout this experience and for always reminding me to lead with compassion, flexibility, and advocacy for our students! your guidance, patience, encouragement, and support helped shape my confidence as a future school-based SLP more than you know. 🫂 i will forever cherish the memories, relationships, and lessons made during this externship and carry them with me into this next chapter of my SLP journey 😆✨ by @april.love.e
