I spent the day with my Dad and Lillian, and after Church, we watched Charlie Kirks memorial service. As a mother, a wife and a Christian, it moved me and brought me to tears. My kids.. their generation.. knows Charlie Kirk well. We will be having the conversations about why this young man (who was only 31, their oldest brother Tyler's age) was assassinated. We will talk... and pray, and talk more.
Charlie used a microphone to share his passionate faith and gift of conversation with the world...not a weapon. This 'tool' is also how my own children communicate their gifts...so that hit me hard. Where have we gotten to in this world where sharing your gift of conversation, song, or even scripture is worth ending someone's life?
And to Charlie's wife... a moment where she has every right to be angry, hateful, venomous...she chose love. And forgiveness. ❤️ We need to do better. BE better. To our nation. To our families. To each other ❤️ Rest in heavenly peace Charlie.
