I’m delighted to be exhibiting my artwork this month at Northwest Hills Art Gallery alongside the gorgeous large-scale paintings of @aprilgarnerart — I’ve always admired April’s work, so this is an honor!

My own art moves between animals, birds and the figure, with a little abstraction, collage and experimentation. It’s been fun to see our work in conversation on the gallery walls.

Please join us for the opening reception this Sunday, Sept. 6, from noon–1:30 p.m. at Northwest Hills Art Gallery (United Methodist Church) in Austin.

Still dreaming of New Mexico hikes in the mountains. These are little 12x12 experiments with cold wax. It’s refreshing to try a new medium.

Learning to embroider @hacer_santafe was a blast. Don’t inspect my attempts too closely! Fun was the objective and Jessica was such a good teacher. The shop is amazing with every type of natural yarn, fabric and floss imaginable. Thank you, Jessica. We appreciated your patience with us.

My month in New Mexico is coming to an end. Friends, family, the mountains and food. It was a pleasure to make art at @laurenmantecon ‘s open studio every Wednesday. Wonderful group of people full of insight and inspiration. These are works on paper in acrylic and pastel, studies for later studio work at home.
