Heart-to-Heart on Living with CFS

I want to share something personal.

I’ve been living with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) since the 4th grade.
It’s not just “feeling tired” — it’s an invisible illness that affects my entire life.

Some days I feel okay… other days, I can barely move.
Simple things like going to the store, getting dressed, responding to messages, or showing up on social media can feel overwhelming.

The hard part? Most people don’t understand it.
I get invited to events, dinners, or asked why I’m “quiet” — but what they don’t see are the crashes, the brain fog, the pain, the guilt, and the deep exhaustion I live with.

I disappear sometimes — not because I don’t care, not because I’m flaky — but because I’m surviving. There’s been times when I’ve stayed in bed for days or weeks.

CFS has taught me to listen to my body. It’s taught me to rest when I need to, even when the world is moving fast. It’s forced me to pause when I’d rather push through.

But I’m still here. Still creating. Still helping people. Still dreaming. Still showing up — even if it’s quietly, even if it’s slowly, even if it’s behind the scenes.

I’m not looking for sympathy. I just want to be real.

And if you’ve ever felt like you had to hide your pain or pretend to be okay — just know I see you.

Thanks for being patient with me. And thank you to those who support me even when I go quiet. You matter more than you know.
