Tap dance has been such a beautiful part of my life and I love that I get the opportunity to share it with so many people! It was such an honor to be part of this @timeoutnewyork shoot and discussion about dance in NYC. There are so many incredible artists in every corner of this city. Support them and learn about what they do! Professional Semester Audition at Broadway Dance Center Vol. 2 ✨First of all, a huge thank you to our beloved partner, Broadway Dance Center, and to April Cook, Director of Marketing & Communications, for making this opportunity possible in Poland for the second time. It is such an honor to have you with us, discovering and supporting talented dancers from Poland and across Europe.A very special thank you also goes to Neil Schwartz, Alora-Rose Morgan, Brian Poniatowski and Jagoda Tyborska-Suleiman for helping host this audition and for sharing your knowledge, encouragement, and support with every dancer throughout the experience.And to every dancer who showed up and gave it their all, congratulations! We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. 85 dancers took part in this unforgettable experience, bringing their passion, talent, and determination into the venue. You made April’s decision anything but easy.No matter the outcome, remember that every audition is a step forward. Another member of our judging panel at the European Championship in Croatia is ⭐️ APRIL COOKan NYC-based teacher, choreographer, and dancer from Charlotte, NC, who has been on BDC’s faculty since 2004. She received her formative training under Gene Medler of the North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble, Barbara Morgan Eaves, of Rhythm Dance Studio, and Miss Donna’s School of Dance.April currently teaches throughout the country, and is a judge/teacher for several competitions and conventions including NYCDA, Mainstage Productions, Dance Theater USA, The PTC Productions Annual Teacher Workshop/The PULSE on Tour, and The Big Apple Tap Festival. Last month, we attended our very first Aussie Dance Tour event, and let’s just say it was nothing short of amazing 🤩At this event, PACKED with incredibly talented dancers from Australia and New Zealand, we were able to award 22 partial BDC scholarships and 1 full scholarship to our Professional Semester! NYC | 07.10.2010 Reviving this gem in honor of BDC’s 42nd anniversary today. I’ve had the most fun heading up projects like this (very 2000s coded) promo collab with Step Up 3D. This was an extra challenge because it was a one-take continuous shot, which means the amazing dancer volunteers got one chance to film this whole thing! It’s always a dream to be able to help celebrate art and dance, and even more fun to look back and see how far we’ve come! This was filmed before we even had the first and second floors (Studios A & B).
