I will always be your Nene.

There were times when I felt so alone, but you were always there to guide me. You were there to support me through every challenge.

Everything you did, you did with love. You saw me for who I am and for what I was becoming.
Then suddenly, cancer took you from us. I had to act like you. I had to be brave like you. I couldn't cry in front of my brothers and sisters because they needed me to be strong.

I had seen you struggle to provide for us so we could always have food on our table - soup, savory dishes, and even fruits. There were times during typhoons when I saw the pain in your eyes. I couldn't say anything, so I acted.

Remember the time I joined the ROTC to get a scholarship so I could have some allowance every semester, even though I was already an academic scholar in school? My first allowance was spent on your dentures. I did it because I loved you. With my second allowance, I asked you to buy my younger brother a bicycle so he wouldn't have to walk to school because I knew how far it was.

The time we spent together was never enough. I had dreamed of owning a convenience store for you once I became a teacher. 🥲 I hope I can still make that dream come true.

Ma, I am trying to live my life with my kids. It's hard to be alone, Ma. But this is my reality now. I still wish to find a brighter future, with or without a good man. Maybe our family is enough.

Guide me. Guide us here. Please ask God to send us His grace and His love. We are not perfect, but we are still asking for His mercy.
I will always be your Nene. ❤️ by @aprilrosecamacho
