Visiting Portland, ME to see “Piercing the Silence: Everyday Art of Resistance featuring the Heavy Flag Project by @a_jillian_ & Blood Coming Out of Her Lady Liberty by @marciebrozyna_art among others. So amazing & emotional to see both of these pieces in person.

Great exhibit. Lots of other great pieces on display at @museumofbeadwork. If you are nearby, it’s worth a trip. We drove nearly 5 hours.

Laura Cornelius Kellogg (1880-1947), Redwork embroidery, Tisha Dolton, 2026

I always bring a project or two to work on at the Association of Public Historians of New York State conference. Two days in & I just finished a Redwork hand embroidered portrait of civil rights activist Laura Cornelius Kellogg. Laura was Oneida & was active in the women’s suffrage movement.

Two (partial) days cutting & I’m still not done! I did take a trip to Seneca Falls, NY & @womensrightsnps in between quilting days. Pretty good staycation so far. Only one day left! by @aprilsongstress

I am starting my third quilt today. I am making the Dragon Dreams pattern by Astrid Bordush with (mostly) the Faraway Kingdom fabric by Natàlia Juan Albelló. I am swapping out the background white/blue dragon for this mushroom fabric by Mia Charro. I am also swaps g out the castle fabric on the underbelly for this yellow swirl from Kate Spain’s Tango line (which both of my other two quilts are made from).

The dragon on this Faraway Kingdom fabric reminds me of the dragon in Jack Kent’s book “There’s No Such Thing as a Dragon”. I loved that book as a kid! I also loved his book “Socks for Supper”.

Made a pot of tea at work. I’m always so cold in climate controlled spaces. It was nice to have piping hot tea whenever I wanted it. I think I’ll keep doing this.
