We are thrilled to launch Tsuris and Soul, an all-new podcast from @aptly_engineerd & @itsmirastern exploring what unites and divides us with honesty, humor, and hella chutzpah. Tsuris, in Yiddish, means troubles, woe, or aggravation. Soul is about calling us into a more grounded sense of self. Our show, Tsuris and Soul, will explore the fracture lines and points of connection between the Jewish community and collective movements for liberation, at a time of such deep personal, communal, and global upheaval. In Season 1, we’re taking on the notion of conflict in its many forms—within communities, across borders, and inside our internal landscapes. Sadly, there is no shortage of conflict and turmoil for us to unpack, air out, and repair. When we planned to launch this Hanukkah, we couldn’t foresee that this would be such a shocking and painful time in the Jewish community. We hope we can offer some joy and comfort for us all in this difficult moment. Episode 1, which introduces the show and its hosts, drops on Monday, December 22. Listen wherever you get your podcasts! by @aptly_engineerd

What can the fusion of a Jewish ethic and Black liberation principles bring to mainstream narratives of “tikkun olam?” What might it be like for white Ashkenazi Jewish culture in the U.S. to follow the lead of Black Jewish folks when it comes to unpacking “Black Jewish relations?” Check out this amazing episode with our guest @illuminatorofx on all podcast platforms! #tsurisandsoul #jewish #jewishidentity #blacklivesmatter #m4bl podcast newpodcastalert podcastclips by @aptly_engineerd

Ok now that I’ve had a second to breathe, it’s time for a Bloodline appreciation post. I’m still wrapping my head around the fact that I got to write my first full length play this year…and @awesometheatre was crazy enough to commission and produce it. I’m incredibly grateful for the team that poured so much effort into this show with me on a shoestring budget with the tenacity of a feral goose chasing a small child for the love of the game. The cast, incredible. Direction, outstanding. Production, costumes, lighting, sound, and video design, a whole ass vibe. Yall literally gave me CROWN MOULDING in a black box theatre. We really did that ish, and I’m already plotting ways to work with all of you again in future iterations of this story. Special thank you to literal pillar of the community @nikstagram04 for commissioning and producing the hell out of this show. There is so much more I can and will say and share about this experience, but for now I’m just incredibly proud and grateful to have brought this story into the world with all of you. by @aptly_engineerd
