After a long time, I finally started a bigger project again and this one feels special. 🌿

Together with @dennerle.official , I had the chance to bring an aquascape idea to life that has been in my head for quite a while. And honestly, it felt so good to finally create again.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about turning an idea into a living underwater landscape.

For this setup, I’m using one of Dennerle’s new aquarium cabinets together with their matching 60L Cub, a tank size that instantly stands out and feels a little different from the norm.

Now the journey really begins. Can’t wait to see how this scape develops over time

Inspired by a quiet riverbank, where old tree roots slowly reach into the flowing water 🌿
This aquascape was built with patience, intention, and a lot of time simply observing. I often stepped back, letting the layout speak to me before moving forward.

To give the plants the best possible start, I used the Dry Start Method — pre-planting parts of the scape and keeping everything moist so the roots could establish properly. This phase alone took 8–10 weeks of waiting, trusting the process.

This is also the very first aquarium I’ve created in my new aquarium room. Even though the room itself is still unfinished, this tank feels like the beginning of something new — the start of a new era.

If you enjoy calm, nature-inspired aquascapes and the process behind them,
follow along and watch this underwater world grow.

Sand might seem like a small detail in an aquascape, but the right choice can completely change the way a layout feels.
The color, grain size and texture of the sand can create contrast, separate different areas, and make the hardscape stand out.
Sometimes a darker sand makes the rocks and plants pop. Other times, a light sand can create a much softer and more natural feeling.
For me, choosing the right sand is not just about filling empty space, it’s about completing the whole composition.

A beautiful aquarium starts with a solid foundation 🌿

Really liking the clean and minimal design of the new aquarium cabinets from Dennerle. Curious to see how the full setup will look once the tank is finished.

Many aquarium problems don’t start with mistakes,
they start with myths.

Ideas that sound logical,
but slowly work against biological balance.

Understanding how aquariums really function
means letting go of old assumptions
and learning to work with nature instead of against it.

Patience and stability matter more than quick fixes.

Healthy aquariums aren’t forced,
they are supported over time.

Stability, patience, and balance
allow nature to do what it does best.

Work with your aquarium, not against it.

Many aquarium problems start with good intentions.

Cleaning too much, changing too fast,
or trying to control everything
often does more harm than good.

Stability matters more than perfection

Planted aquariums don’t fail overnight —
they struggle slowly when we rush the process.

I made mistakes with lighting, trimming, planting density,
and especially with patience.

Healthy plant growth isn’t about doing more.
It’s about doing things consistently
and giving the system time to stabilize.

Every mistake taught me more about balance.

Most people think they keep their aquarium alive.

But the real work happens silently, every day,
done by billions of beneficial bacteria.

Once you understand this,
aquariums start to make a lot more sense.

Betta fish are often misunderstood.

Many common care mistakes don’t come from bad intentions,
but from outdated information and myths.

Keeping Bettas is not about the bare minimum.
It’s about creating a calm, warm, and stable environment
where they can truly thrive.

Learning and improving is part of responsible fishkeeping.
