First day of Homeschool Water Polo Enrichment and we are STOKED! 🤽‍♂️🌧️

Rain or shine, these kids showed up ready to play!

We spent the first hour working on water polo fundamentals, swimming, eggbeater, ball handling, passing, and shooting. Then we wrapped up with 30 minutes of shallow water polo scrimmaging, and it was SO much fun!

Shallow polo is a great way to introduce kids to the game. They get to learn positioning, teamwork, and gameplay without the added challenge of treading water the entire time. It builds confidence and gives them a chance to fall in love with the sport before putting all the pieces together in deep water.

But don’t worry, we worked on swimming and eggbeater too! 💪

Such a fun first day at Golden West College. Can’t wait for next Monday!

🌊❄️ Winter at Way of the Waterman! ❄️🌊

A question we get a lot: What do you do with home schoolers in the winter? 🤔

The truth is, surf isn’t always perfect—whether it’s blown out, too big, or just too darn cold. But that never stops us from building waterman independence during any season! 💪🏽🌊

That said, we definitely still surf in the winter! 🏄‍♂️❄️ And let’s be real—fall is a surfer’s dream in North Orange County. 🍂🌊 Glassy conditions, fun swells, and fewer crowds? Yes, please!

At our Way of the Waterman program, we keep the surf lifestyle alive year-round with:

Rainy Last Friday = another perfect day for paddle-making.

Our students dialed in their skills, stayed focused, and kept learning even when the beach was out of play.

Waterman training doesn’t stop for weather and neither do our amazing Dad/Grandad helpers. ⚒️🌧️

Where does the water go when it rains? 🌧️

This week at Way of the Bay, we’re exploring watersheds, runoff, and how water moves across the land, carrying everything in its path toward our bays and ocean.

A little sand, a rock, some water, and a whole lot of curiosity. Sometimes the best science lessons happen right beneath our feet. 🌊

You know us from the ocean at Surfside and the calm waters of Alamitos Bay. Now we’re bringing Aqualand to the pool at Golden West College!

Our newest homeschool enrichment program, Water Polo Development, is designed for kids who want to improve their swimming, build water confidence, learn the fundamentals of water polo, and have fun!

No experience necessary! Coached by Matty, this is a noncompetitive, instructional class focused on swimming, ball handling, passing, shooting, teamwork, and developing strong aquatic skills.

⏰ 10:45 AM arrival for dryland warmup

🤽 Ages 6+ | All skill levels welcome
