In our latest Pool Spotlight Series, we got some insight into the unique and innovative workings of Aqua Terra Backyard. From childhood friends to business school classmates, Eric and Nick created a carefully curated online marketplace for people who refuse to compromise on quality, design, or environmental responsibility.

“We saw and opportunity to do something different,” Eric explains. “We’re building relationships with customers who care about transforming their outdoor spaces into something truly special - and doing it responsibly.”

Hot tub season starts the same week the pool goes quiet, and a spa swings fast because there is so little water in it. Long Island cold snaps make it swing even faster.

The ReThink Spa Daily Dose is a floating automatic dispenser that works from the heat of the water. Pre-measured refill packs release treatment gradually through the day, so there is less handling.

Would you set it and forget it? Save this for the first cold week. Spa Daily Dose, link in our bio.

Swim longer next season.

The AquaCal SQ140R is super quiet, heats and cools, and is Wi-Fi ready with a built-in PoolSync antenna. Long Island pool owners, the best time to plan a heat pump is now, before spring.

Heat pump or gas for your pool? Tell us below, then save this and send it to your pool builder.

Closing your pool? Do these 4 in order.

Clean it, balance the water, add winter chemicals, then cover it and keep standing water off the cover.

Save this for closing day. Closing supplies are in the link in our bio.

Before your first fire of the season, run three checks.

1. Reread the manual. Clearances decide where it can sit.
2. Look the burner and grate over for rust or damage.
3. Clear leaves and low branches, then check your local burn rules.

Gas model? Have a licensed pro check the connections.

Save this for first fire night. Fire pits, link in our bio.

Halloween night, fire going.

This is the Fire Pit Art Asia, a steel bowl that turns any yard into the best seat on the street. Long Island backyard or a lake in the distance, the fire is the point.

Where is your fire tonight, patio, yard or by the water? Send this to your fire pit friend.

Hot tub in winter? 3 checks.

Tip: keep it running in freezing weather, check the cover for water and a tight seal, and clean the filter and keep the water level right.

The underrated part of the year.

Late October. Nobody is swimming, the bugs are gone, and the light goes orange by five.

A fire bowl, a blanket and the yard is still the best room in the house.

Winter pool cover checks, before the next cold snap.

1. Water: keep the level where your cover maker recommends.
2. Debris: clear leaves and standing water so the cover stays light.
3. Fit: make sure the edges and anchors are snug all the way around.

Save the cover checks for your next cold snap. Covers and winterizing gear are in the link in our bio.

Clocks fall back this Sunday.

If your pool runs on timers, check three things before then: the pump timer, the light timer, and the controller schedule.

A mechanical timer will not adjust itself. Digital controls differ, so check yours.

Give the pool a haunted glow this Halloween.

The SwimSense AquaColors 4 inch color LED light is the one to look at. Match it to your pool type (gunite or fiberglass), check the cable length, and pick your control mode. Leave the wiring to a pro.

Save this three point list for light shopping. Guide and lights, link in our bio.
