Well… WHAT HAVE I JUST READ?! 😳👻😂

I said I wanted a scary book and bloody hell did this deliver!! 1000%!!

This book scared the absolute crap out of me 😂

I actually couldn’t read it in bed because I was convinced I was going to look up from my book and see some horrible scary face emerging from the darkness!! NO THANK YOU!! 😭😂

From the moment Adrienne walks into Ashburn House it just kicks off! The house, the darkness, the creepy things going on… OMG!!

I absolutely loved the atmosphere in this one. It was so spooky and dark and I genuinely felt scared reading it. My heart was in my mouth at times because I was constantly waiting for something to happen or something to jump out at me!

You know that horrible feeling when you’re scared but you can’t stop looking?! That was me reading this book 😂

I started it last night and I’ve literally just finished it! I couldn’t put it down, although I was seriously questioning why I was reading it in the dark in the first place 😂👻

THIS is what I want when I pick up a scary book! I want to feel like I’m there, I want to feel the fear, I want to be scared to turn the next page and this did exactly that!!

Bloody brilliant!! Absolutely loved it!! 👻📚

Lies and Bones – R.J. Law
⭐⭐⭐

Well… I’ve just finished this one and I have to say I’m a little disappointed 😒

There was quite a lot of hype around this book and I’d been told it was really disturbing, so obviously I went into it expecting something pretty dark and twisted… but was I disturbed? Nope 😂

Don’t get me wrong, I liked the book, I just didn’t love it.

It’s more of a detective thriller, which I don’t mind at all, but I was expecting a lot more from it. There’s not really much graphic detail, you get little descriptions of the bodies and what’s happened but nothing that made me go OMG 😳

And the atmosphere… where was it?!

There’s a scene in a basement and I wanted to FEEL like I was down there. I wanted that horrible creepy feeling of being trapped, the darkness, the fear, the whole atmosphere of it all. But I just didn’t get that. It was more like… here’s a basement, it’s dark, she’s in a cage. And that was that 😂

I love a book where I can actually picture myself standing there, where the atmosphere is so thick you can almost feel it, and unfortunately this just didn’t do that for me.

It’s only around 200 pages so it was a pretty quick read, and I did enjoy the detective side of it, but I think all the hype had me expecting something completely different.

Maybe I’ve just read too many dark and disturbing books lately and my expectations are getting ridiculous 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

So yeah… not a bad book, just a bit MEH compared to what I was expecting.

My first ever talking book review!!

I’ve been putting this off because talking to my phone feels bloody weird 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

But here we are… me having a little waffle about Lies and Bones by R. J. Law.

Was it worth all the hype? Hmmmm… 👀

Anyway, bear with me, I’m still getting used to this 😂😂

Survive the Night – Riley Sager
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Well… WHAT THE HELL!! 😂🤯

I was NOT expecting that!! What a bloody twist!

So Charlie gets into a car with a complete stranger to get home from college, which is probably not the best idea in the first place 😂 and then starts wondering if the person she’s stuck in the car with is actually a serial killer!

The atmosphere in this book was just OMG!! It was so thick and claustrophobic, I honestly felt like I was sitting in the back of that car with them. The tension of being stuck in a car in the middle of the night, not knowing who you’re actually sitting next to or what they’re capable of 😬

And I kept thinking… surely something is going to happen, something is not right here!

Then BANG!! A twist I did NOT see coming! 😂

So there I am thinking right, ok, I’ve got it now, I know what’s going on… NOPE!! Because before you know it there’s a whole other twist thrown in that I wasn’t expecting either!! 🤯😂

I love a book that makes me think I’ve worked it all out only to prove that I clearly haven’t got a bloody clue 😂

I really enjoyed this one! The atmosphere, the tension, the twists… YES!! Definitely kept me guessing right until the end.

I only started this little page a couple of months ago because I’d fallen back in love with reading and wanted somewhere to waffle about books 😂

The Witch – Freida McFadden

WOW WOW WOW!! 👻😂

Absolutely loved this one!!

The whole spooky, eerie feeling of the haunted house was just brilliant! I honestly felt like I was there at times, expecting someone to rip open a door and be confronted by some bloody terrifying ghost 😂👻

It’s told in a dual timeline, going between the past and present, which I really liked because you’re slowly finding out what happened all those years ago and how it all links together.

And the family secrets!! 😳 Bodies buried for hundreds of years, secrets that have stayed hidden and are just waiting to be discovered!

It was intense, creepy and had that horrible feeling that something was about to happen at any moment. I just wanted to keep reading to find out what the hell had gone on in that house!

I love a good spooky read and this one definitely delivered! Perfect for October and my spooky season reading 🎃👻

Stillhouse Lake – Rachel Caine
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Loved this one!! 😬 This one had me like WTF

This was SO intense. That constant feeling that someone is watching you, stalking you and basically waiting to come after you had me on edge the whole bloody time 😂

Every knock at the door, every strange car, every person that appeared and I was like NOPE, WHO ARE YOU?! 👀😂

And who the hell do you trust?! Anyone?! Because I didn’t trust a bloody person by the end 😂 Everyone felt suspicious and I was constantly waiting for something to happen.

It was gripping, creepy and properly tense and I flew through it because I just needed to know who was behind everything and whether they were ever actually going to be safe.

Definitely my kind of thriller!! 😬📚

Buried in the Woods Below – Daniel G. Miller
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Loved this one!! 👻🌲

This was exactly the kind of spooky read I wanted for October 😂 It was creepy, intense and I genuinely felt like I was standing right there in the middle of that misty abandoned amusement park with them.

The abandoned rides, the rumours of ghosts, the haunted island… YES 😂👻 just the whole setting had such a creepy feel to it and I loved it.

There were definitely moments where it got pretty intense and I was flying through the pages because I needed to know what the hell was going on.

Spooky season reading has officially started and this was a bloody good one to start with 🎃😂

And can we just appreciate the book itself it feels great floppy pages velvetycover

Buried… woods… creepy looking house… 😂 it’s basically screaming October read isn’t it?!

I don’t know too much about this one and I’m keeping it that way. Going in blind and hoping it’s creepy, twisty and keeps me guessing 🤞🏼😂
