Two years with you 🤍

People always talk about the “terrible twos” like it’s supposed to be a bad thing, but honestly, if this is our terrible twos, I’ll take it.

This year wasn’t all picture-perfect moments. It was real life. The stressful days, the hard conversations, the uncertainty, the growing pains, and all the little moments in between that don’t make it onto social media.

That’s what I love most about us. Not that we’re perfect, but that we’ve built something real. A relationship that shows up on the hard days, not just the easy ones. A relationship that keeps growing, even when life gets messy.

Two years later, you’re still my best friend, my safe place, and my favorite person to do life with.

Hair has always been more than just hair. Mainly for personal expression, however tying to religious devotion, social status and identity. I’ve always wanted long, beautiful & healthy hair. And although I was familiar with ways and treatments to achieve that it was so hard for me. Cutting & dying. Heat treatments as well as more experimental things like relaxers. I’ve never felt comfortable, letting my hair fully breathe and although I have full control over my own emotions and decisions I regret to say that I was heavily influenced by social media and by others around me. And sooner than later I had enough. I had enough of stressing my hair & I had enough of struggling to maintain my hair as it was getting hard to brush, comb or even do anything with it without trying to spend 2+ hours in my bathroom. So I decided to cut my hair the shortest I’ve ever had despite what others would think. Truthfully, it was a mental battle for me but it was the best decision. I have clearer days & I’m more motivated and excited about things that I wasn’t before. I’m more proactive about my life. And although I’m just talking about hair, specifically mine. I hope you uncover a deeper meaning for yourself. To cut off the bad. Cut off things that don’t serve you and to move on!
