After 3.5 hours and 6 hard-fought innings, Addison pulled through and we ended the season as City Champions! And coach announced Addison as MVP of the year. 🏆🥹 Not because she was perfect every game (because she wasn’t), but because of her hard work, determination, leadership, and the heart she brought to the field all season long.We couldn’t be more proud of this kid. At the beginning of the season, I had my doubts about her becoming a pitcher. I remember telling her it would probably take a year before she became good at it. Then one day at practice, Coach said, “I think we have our pitcher.”The thing about Addison is that when she sees something she likes or wants to try, she goes all in. She was confident in becoming the team’s main pitcher. She believed in herself, even when things didn’t go her way.There were definitely tough days. Days when her pitches weren’t landing, when she was hard on herself, frustrated, or trying to keep her emotions in check. But one thing that made a difference all season long was her team. Her teammates were always there to lift her up, encourage her, and remind her that one bad inning or one bad game didn’t define her.Watching her learn not only how to pitch, but how to manage the mental side of the game, has been one of my favorite parts of this season. The growth wasn’t just on the mound. It was in her confidence, resilience, and ability to keep showing up.She worked hard. She conquered.And she proved me wrong.That’s what I love most about her. From the moment you became a dad to now, what a journey it has been. 🤍I still remember when we brought home that tiny little girl, and now somehow, we have a pre-teen. 🥹 Time really does fly.Watching you grow into the father you are today has been one of my favorite things. Through every milestone, every challenge, every proud moment, and every life lesson, you’ve been there with patience, love, and unwavering support.From late-night feedings and bedtime stories to softball/soccer games, BJJ tournaments, and now navigating the pre-teen years, you’ve been her biggest fan every step of the way.Seeing the bond you share with Addison melts my heart. She may be growing up faster than we’d like, but one thing hasn’t changed. What a way to end the season. 💙🥎Addison’s last softball game of the regular season, and we ended it with a W, 4-3. These are just highlights of the game.Still kicking myself for not hitting record when two batters hit right to Addison and she made the plays to first for the outs. 😭🥎 Mom fail. But shoutout to our amazing first baseman for making those outs happen! 💪🏼It wasn’t Addison’s strongest outing on the mound. The pitching circle had a hole that kept throwing her off, and her pitches were either falling short or staying too low. You could see the frustration starting to creep in, and we knew she was feeling down. But we kept reminding her: don’t let it get to you. Shake it off. Take a breather. Take your time. Focus on the target. Get a little dirt on that ball for a better grip and trust yourself. You got this. Even when things weren’t going her way, her team was counting on her, and she never gave up.Then came the last inning.She dug deep, settled in, and pulled through. Not just for herself, but for her teammates. She threw the winning pitch to end the game, and as soon as that final out was made, the tears started flowing. Tears of joy as her teammates ran up to celebrate with her. 🥰Honestly, typing this out is making me emotional. In one day, we celebrated her 5th grade culmination and watched her finish her softball season on a high note. The growth, resilience, and confidence this kid has shown this year have made this mama so proud.Now we wait to find out if we’ll be playing for championships. 🥇 Took home gold at @nabjjf! 🥇I only had one competitor in my bracket, so it was a best-of-3 format. Won both matches by submission and got the job done in two.Second match, I fought without Coach in my corner. I told him I could do it on my own so he could help my teammate who was about to compete on the mat next to mine. It felt good knowing I could trust my training and stay focused when it was time to perform.I also haven’t been training as much since softball season started, and my last competition was back in March, so stepping back onto the mats and coming away with gold felt pretty good.Thankful for my coaches, teammates, and my opponent for sharing the mats.Next up: Dream. #nabjjf #bjjkids #teamcondekoma by @ara_jitsu

Today was the day! My baby girl made the award-winning SMW Knights Drill Team! 🥳If you know me, you know this one hit me right in the heart.She worked so hard during the workshops, practiced nonstop, pushed through the nerves, and earned her spot. So seeing my sister’s text of this photo filled me with so much pride, joy, and gratitude. This mama definitely cried. 🥹😭Although we’re super happy for her, there’s a little bit of sadness too. With drill team becoming such a big part of her life, softball and soccer will have to take a back seat for now. And as for jiu-jitsu, well, she may not be able to compete for a while, but we definitely want her to keep training whenever she can. Drill team is a huge commitment. Time, energy, dedication… and a whole lotta money. 😣💸 But definitely worth it. Congratulations, baby girl! Excited and nervous for @ara_jitsu today. 💫4 days of drill team workshops and she’s been practicing nonstop. Every time I watch her, I see myself in her…but then again, she is my mini-me after all. 🥹I wasn’t in drill team during middle school, but I was in it in high school. So seeing her even go for this already feels special. And if she makes the team, it would mean so much watching her carry on something that runs in the family, especially since my sisters were also in drill team back in their middle school days. ❤️🤍🖤Now we wait. Cruise Day 4: Ensenada! 🇲🇽⚓️We finally arrived at our destination. First time here for both me and Addie, and honestly, it gave me Olvera Street in LA vibes. 😂Meanwhile, Addie was lowkey nervous about the cartel before we got off the ship. 😂 We told her, “Just stay with us and you’ll be fine.” She stayed very aware of her surroundings the entire time, watching every vendor, every person trying to get us to eat, shop, or buy souvenirs.Honestly, we were still stuffed from the breakfast buffet on the ship, so we skipped the food spots. I mean, is it really that different from the Mexican food here? You tell me. 👀😜Still, we had fun walking around, soaking it all in, and taking photos. Did we buy anything? Addie got a sweater. I got Dubai chocolate covered strawberries because my sweet tooth was kicking in. 😂 And Jeff? Of course he came home with a magnet bottle opener for the fridge that says ENSENADA. Cruise Day 3: Catalina Island 🌴☀️It was Addison’s first time in Catalina and she loved every minute of it. After getting off the ship, we made the walk to Descanso Beach, grabbed a drink, soaked in the views, and just enjoyed the beautiful weather.
