$Hanging Eco-Gardens @speculariuum @luislop_ @thepaacademy @mamoumani . . . Through the inspiration of biomimicry within natural systems we were able to create a sanctuary that invites nature back into our urban cities and evokes a human connection while raising ecological awareness. For our hanging eco garden installation, we studied form, materiality and how we can bridge the two with a function in an underutilized urban space. We studied two natural forms, the Romanesco Broccoli with its unique fractal patterns that follow a repeating recursive geometry. Our second system, the Ant Hill followed a behavioural movement through pheromone deposit within their underground tunnel system. Using these systems as our inspiration we were able to computationally develop mesh volumes and extract contours and patterns from them in order to create fabricable and aesthetically pleasing structures. The final structure would be 18 ft. high holding multiple levels of vegetated plates, while integrating an aquaponic system. Visitors can utilize this space as a tranquil passageway in their daily commute, they can interact with the space by climbing and sitting on the shaded contoured levels. As a central node in an urban environment, the space acts as an interactive element within the neighborhood, providing a sense of play while bringing nature back to the city and promoting biodiversity. The aquaponics implementation enhances our intentions to raise awareness about waste and drought issues with this regenerative closed loop zero waste system, creating a symbiotic relationship between the animal and vegetal world. With the potential involvement and participation of the community within the neighborhood, these hanging structures and the green areas surrounding it can evolve into lush grow beds that house fruits and vegetables encouraging the local production of food by the community for the community. . . . #Rhino3D #rhinoceros3d #grasshopper3d #keyshot #render #rendering #3dmodel #3dmodeling #codeart #digitalart #computergraphics #motiongraphics #mediaart #parametric #parametricdesign #generativedesign #computationaldesign #algorithmicdesign #creativecoding #arakeuro by @ara_keuro$
