In between getting caught up on progress notes detailing the specific struggles all of my patients are currently going through I decided to try a new coping strategy. As an alternative to some sort of detrimental escapism option I’m not gonna lie -> this worked ✨🙌🏼✨ @florenceandthemachine #free #DanceTherapy #NoFormalTraining #PsychNinjaStuff

“Sometimes I wonder if I should be medicated
If I would feel better just slightly sedated
A feeling comes so fast and I cannot control it
I’m on fire, but I’m trying not to show it

As it picks me up, puts me down
It picks me up, puts me down
Picks me up, puts me down
A hundred times a day

It picks me up, puts me down
It chews me up, spits me out
Picks me up, puts me down

I’m always running from something
I push it back, but it keeps on coming
And being clever never got me very far

Because it’s all in my head
And “You’re too sensitive”, they said
I said, “Okay, but let’s discuss this at the hospital”

As it picks me up, puts me down
It picks me up, puts me down
Picks me up, puts me down
A hundred times a day

It picks me up, puts me down
It chews me up, spits me out
Picks me up, puts me down

But I hear the music
I feel the beat
And for a moment
When I’m dancing, I am free

I hear the music
I feel the beat (ahh)
And for a moment
When I’m dancing, I am free, I am free
Ooh, ooh

Is this how it is?
Is this how it’s always been?
To exist in the face of suffering and death
And somehow still keep singing

Oh like Christ up on a cross
Who died for us? Who died for what?
Oh, don’t you wanna call it off?

But there’s nothing else that I know how to do
But to open up my arms and give it all to you
‘Cause I hear the music, I feel the beat
And for a moment, when I’m dancing
I am free, I am free
I am free, I am free” 🧡 by @arankin1

“If I stay here
I’ll be the change no one can see
Everyone’s a flower
I am king of the weeds
I will become an invasive species

If I stay here
I’ll be alright, that might be it
If ignorance is bliss, I am an idiot
I’ll feel no pain, in my castle with a bridge

So won’t you stay here with me?
You can try on my insecurity
Almost like a mantra, almost like I wanted you to hold me back

If we stay here
We would never fight, until we do
Turn the vacuum on, suck the air out of the room
Finally you say it, finally the truth

It was never about the dog
More like everything it represents
I’m speaking now in present tense…”

“Well you lie to your kids
Say it’s not what it is
But the kids are too smart
To see something for what it’s not

I know that the world will come apart
I know that the world will come apart
I hope that the pain is gonna stop
I hope that the pain is gonna stop

When they burned olive trees
They set fire to the leaves
But the roots are too strong
To let go of where they’re from

And one day the pain is gonna stop
One day the pain is gonna stop
I know that the world will come apart
I know that the world will come apart”

Feliz aniversário, Ana.

It’s been four years since Lucy was brought into our lives… and we couldn’t be more thankful that she was 💛 long live this mystery meat nugget 🐾 by @arankin1

I am simultaneously grateful and overwhelmed each August 15th, because I get to make a post about the man I love more than I ever thought anyone could love another person, @kuzin4abruisin 🩷

I am in awe of you.
You are curious and kind, brave and humble, full of love while fiercely standing up for those you love with a force far greater than any words could truly capture. It is not a coincidence that you are surrounded by people (and a dog) who love you with their whole hearts -> you have worked so hard, every minute of every day, to show others true friendship, compassion and love.
One of my nieces calls you “Chrissy Boy”… sometimes Spawn calls you first for advice…. when I fall off the face of the earth people call you to check on me because you always pick up…
You are the most amazing man, and I feel truly blessed to get to call you my person. Here’s to another orbit around the sun -> with all the traveling, feelings, life lessons, experiences (amazing and heart breaking) that that orbit involved 🥂 and here’s to many more orbits around the sun together ☀️ we can do all things ✨🙌🏼✨

✨🎂✨Happy Birthday Chris ✨🎂✨ by @arankin1

I normally don’t post about political stuff because I don’t want to add any negativity to the already overwhelmingly negative landscape but this really breaks my heart 💔This egomaniac put his face on the National Parks Pass and has, today alone, decided by himself to eliminate over three million acres of our National Parks. Just today. Our National Parks matter - this is so sick. by @arankin1

“Just stop your crying
It’s a sign of the times
Welcome to the final show
Hope you’re wearing your best clothes
You can’t bribe the door on your way to the sky
You look pretty good down here
But you ain’t really good

If we never learn, we been here before
Why are we always stuck and running from
The bullets?
The bullets
We never learn, we been here before
Why are we always stuck and running from
Your bullets?
The bullets

Just stop your crying
It’s a sign of the times
We gotta get away from here
We gotta get away from here
Just stop your crying
It’ll be alright
They told me that the end is near
We gotta get away from here…”

“That I’m the trouble ahead
And I scream in my sleep
You’re putting money on red, I’m a sure bet at a losing streak
I keep showing you doors, but you can’t open them up
‘Cause it gets harder to see me the closer you try to look
I just live here, babe, but you’re the one who decided to knock
You knocked

I’ll be gone so long before the anger comes
I’ll be only what you’ve known of me ‘til now
Oh, how I hope you’re moving on

‘Cause I’m the trouble ahead
And I scream in my sleep
You’re putting money on red, I’m a sure bet at a losing streak
I keep showing you doors, but you can’t open them up
‘Cause it gets harder to see me the closer you try to look
I just live here, babe, but you’re the one
I just live here, babe, but you’re the one
I just live here, babe, but you’re the one”
