🗣️: Yes, this short pays homage to the reboot of @adifferentworldnetflix for a number of reasons. This is not a bandwagon moment because I already knew the show would be successful. This is a step for maintaining artist agency by remembering to be inspired by the greats @feliciapride @therealdebbieallen etc., BUT doing something about it. Yes, I was one of the actors who actually received several auditions for season one (which was a huge win considering how much I pushed myself to even get in the room — another story for another day). And it taught me: what I truly want is to know the feeling of creating these worlds, being a leading woman, and telling the stories I crave. So I’ve been doing just that…and guess what! It’s exactly what these amazing creatives have been doing for years. Although my first goal (and of course how cool it would be to still happen) centered on booking a role, it later brought me into a deeper research process of the actual decision makers, and helped me realize I want to be more like them. So here’s a step and I am so incredibly proud and thankful for these moments. They’re healing and make me even hungrier. I hope my time of being inspired now inspires you.

Much love and gratitude to my amazing film bros who are so incredibly talented, wise, and faithful to the meaning of staying true to the ART and always being their authentic selves.

Motherhood changed a lot of things but it did NOT change how big of a dreamer I am. I stopped talking about my personal life online a while ago because I value privacy but I am going to do a better job of sharing the things that are uniquely my story as I become the representation someone else needs to see (with wisdom of course😉).

Hey mama, DON’T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS. I am living proof that you don’t have to.

And if my words don’t seem that hype now, trust me you’ll get it when my endorsement finally happens.

The thing is, I see myself so much bigger than my circumstances. I know more is in store, it’s just a matter of time. I SO appreciate those that celebrate me while speaking life into knowing where I am headed, especially my film brothers and close mentor.🥹

Maine, thank you for being one of these people. This was one of the greatest times I have ever had being interviewed because you made a wonderful effort to truly see me for who I am. It was so nice to fully express how I actually see myself not just what people assume. Keep doing your BIG ONE with your podcast.❤️ @mttm_podcast

MORE CREATIVE EXPLORATION 👾⌨️📟: Where ambition is risky, the system is rigged, and the boss is a straight-up supervillain. 🥶

Does Amara have the power to secure the promotion or is she steps from selecting a severance package? 👀

Digital matrix. Corporate politics. This is . . . ‘RELENTLESS’. 💾⚡

READ: One thing I’m going do is SHARE MY ART no matter how big or small. Old or new. Let this be a quick little reminder to you, okay?

1. I’ve spent a lot of time hiding from visibility because of the things other people projected on me over the years. I’m coming out of that. I’m thankful for those who encouraged me to. I am “a city upon a hill who cannot be hidden.” I will let my light shine so ‘men’ might see my good deeds and glorify my God.

2. CHILE LISTEN TO ME. If you booked a SAG project and even if you are simply a co-star PROMOTE IT. People don’t see the business side of it. The blessing of residuals, the JOY of being on a higher level set, the favor of getting in front of casting directors, producers, directors. Truly no role is too small. You can always tell who is really a working actor by the things they focus on. I remember a lot of my lines I had didn’t make it pass the cutting floor on several projects I’ve booked (even lately) and fellow creatives would belittle my process with “yeah yeah, that was cool but why they only give you like two lines?” Sweetheart, even if I had NONE (even if YOU have one) IT IS A WIN. You are literally being chosen out of thousands of auditions and going through many decision makers before being selected. Oh trust, OWN IT. Don’t let anyone make a victory on your path (especially a win in the entertainment industry) feel small or not good enough because it’s already so difficult to break in.

3. I said it before. I’ll say it again. I am leaving a paper trail. It’s intentional. God has already named that LEAD role for me. There are so many foreshadows of my future. And all the glory will be given where it’s due. Be thankful for the hidden seasons, times when it seems like you or your work is overlooked, when you feel disregarded. It is part of the character development process. That’s just how the supernatural works — might as well embrace it.

3. I’m someone who’s called to greatness but it doesn’t reveal itself instantly. Before promotion l am always tested through a season of humility. It’s just the pattern. Separated before elevated. Maybe you are too.🤍🙏🏾 by @aratheactress

You can leave home. But can you leave the cycle?

She knows what it took to make it out.
He’s still figuring out how to make it through.

Maybe healing begins when they stop facing it alone.
