Melbourne you filled our design cup this weekend! Discovering moments in a city on foot, we feel inspired by all we saw @seangodsellarchitects @armarchitecture @rmitarchitecture and my absolute favourite @kennedy_nolan. Your contributions to the city fabric make any roaming architect a danger in crossing streets full of trams :) #justlookup #melbourne #architecture #australianarchitecture taken in Melbourne, Australia by @archaea_architects

Yeo Yo by @archaea_architects

"Bold and fun, Yeo Yo by Archaea is the result of a 25-year relationship between the clients and Archaea associate and architect Sam Lucia.... Archaea director Sally Wilson says, “Sam and I had this idea of using the street name, which is Yeo, and the idea of a Yo-Yo being used as an ordering device, a circular pure form, as well as a nostalgic reference to childhood friendship.”

This playful connection conceptualises an atrium as a divider between the home’s public and private zones, visible from the front door, bending light through the plan into a continuous spatial loop. The yo-yoing motif extends into the modern interpretation of a Catalan-inspired 5.6-metre-high brick barrel vault, which soars to capture the northern perspective into the new addition."
