Fale FM Foundations returns with its 9th release, we welcome Vancouver-based DJ and producer @archetypexo Kasha T.

Drawing from older influences and moving through early 2000s house, techno and groove-led electronic music, Kasha has spent years shaping a sound that is understated, intentional and unmistakably their own. A familiar presence within Vancouver’s music community and previously featured on Azul Recs’ monthly show on Bside Radio, this mix is another reminder that some artists move quietly until the timing catches up.

Lush State is described by Kasha as “a rhythmic journey through Kasha’s B-sides” and moves through deep cuts, left turns and selections that sit just outside the obvious.

For the ones who stay longer than expected.

Some lil snippets from kasha t’s set back in feb! (took a little pause back in march because nezzy moved)
the mix feels both timeless and deeply rooted in that pnw sound that she is no stranger to in forming from her years as a producer in the scene. more to come on that soon 🙏🏼

Full of classic house gems, drifting between deep house and carrying a distinct pnw sensibility. i love the nostalgia i get from listening to her play. her selections are both timeless and built for a dance floor ✨perfect for a rainy PNW day no less 🌞
Now up on Soundcloud and YouTube. All links are in the linktree 🌳 taken in The Beaumont Studios by @archetypexo

my next guest for february’s edition of azul is the infamous kasha t @archetypexo ! someone i’ve been slowly getting to know since the beginning of last year. we definitely crossed paths a few times before that though, somewhere in her twisted™ era, but we were very different people back then. cue 2016.

kasha’s been in the scene since her early 20s, back when the vancouver underground looked and felt very different. watching how far it’s come, and how she’s grown alongside it, has been really special. she’s always been a selector first and foremost. music as obsession, music as lifelong companion.

her ears were shaped early on. growing up, she was very influenced by the late 90s/early 2000s blends of genres where music sort of bled into each other and nothing felt super defined yet. she picked up her first controller in 2011, a behringer bcd 2000 and a few years later started producing and never looked back! initially all analog before eventually making the jump into ableton.

we’re also quietly cooking something together for azul later this year, which feels very full circle. more on that soon.

really excited to have her on the show today! as always tune in on www.twitch.tv/bsidedotradio or come on down the station at bside at the beaumont studios and hang out with us! 4-6pm (PST) / 7-9pm (EST)🌀 taken in The Beaumont Studios by @archetypexo
