Welcome to the house account for Archival by Addison Ray🌅 Archival is wearable art, crafted with intentional circular elegance and unity of the senses. Where sound becomes color, and garments become meaning.

Through color music theory, Archival brings your favorite songs to life through color and symbolism; invoking emotion and expressionism, with a driving force of sustainability. We create reworked denim pieces that condense the sensations of music and the importance of protecting our environment with slow, intentional, hand crafted fashion— bound by the importance of artful living.

Introducing… archival femme collection: EURO SUMMER 🦋🐟🍋🌸

archival femme will hit the racks at TFR September 12th - valuing a more mature, sophisticated, and subdued approach to the fashion I am passionate about. I want to create a category
that can be worn to work, can be worn to a nicer brunch or dinner, but also maintain a touch of myself as an artist. It will lean more feminine, incorporating a more elevated look that will continue to grow, while also staying true to who I am. It takes a closer look at the art of garment making, while sprinkling in a touch of wearable art.

ARCHIVAL CREATIVE will continue to explore color music theory, and where I see fit I would like this to eventually integrate into acrchival femme in a more “minimalistic” way when compared to ARCHIVAL CREATIVE. This category will be loud, passionate, artistic, and continue to build on wearable art.

Both categories boil down to one theme: Where garments become meaning.

Both categories carry this in a different light: ARCHIVAL CREATIVE takes a very literal approach, drawing meaning from the music industry, specifically in illustrating songs through color. archival femme will take a more abstract approach to this idea, drawing from intimate themes and identities.

One of my favorite customs yet for ARCHIVAL CREATIVE!! Commissioned ensemble “DIVERSITY OF PATTERN” for @maxmoubarek 🔆🧍‍♀️🧍👣🧞‍♂️🧞‍♀️

This piece was all about community and love - drawing on themes of togetherness, diversity, inclusion, and uniqueness.

Each piece starts as reclaimed denim. Specifically, this look draws colors from the song “People Got To Be Free” by The Rascals. I used color music theory to find the colors associated with the main notes/chords of the song!

It also represents the importance of never giving up. This piece started as a completely painted look, but I didn’t feel it completely embodied what I was trying to convey. In this process, I was able to adapt and find a new way to represent diversity - through pattern and color!

New custom denim alert!!🧡🌼🌞🥝🌎

Thank you @instaismygram for trusting & commissioning me to create this amazing new piece of wearable art for your wardrobe!

ABOUT THE WORK: This piece was inspired by Sathya’s interests - chess, travel, food, and black smithing! We also selected Dtmf by Bad Bunny to draw inspiration for the colors of the piece.

It was so fun to take all of these interests and marry them together to bring Sathya’s passions to fruition through intentional design, art, and fashion!

Celebrating an incredible event yesterday, hosted by The Fitting Room in Minneapolis @thefittingroommpls ! 🌅👏🏻🥂

I’m so grateful to share that I’ll officially be selling my clothing as a designer with The Fitting Room and joining their team of fantastic designers! Moreover, I’m excited to announce that I sold my very first standard line piece at the show 🥳

To say the least, I’m beyond excited for what’s to come.

Endless thanks to Kim, owner of The Fitting Room, for welcoming me on as a designer, to my family for their constant support and always showing up for me, and to everyone who has helped guide and encourage me along the way. I truly wouldn’t be here without each person who’s been apart of this journey, every step of the way.

The remaining pieces from my runway look are now available in-store, and my first full collection will be launching in-store this March! See you at The Fitting Room (and at the next show!)

PS - this piece was inspired by Jimmy Buffett’s “Margaritaville”! All of the colors are strategically chosen, and correlate with the notes of the song. DM me if you want to learn more about color music theory!🎨
