Maybe that’s wrong with me 🎬Ulsavapittennu Mohanlal’s 1988 Film _Ulsavapittennu_, released in 1988, is a Malayalam drama directed by Bharath Gopi and written by John Paul. The film features Mohanlal in one of his earlier, more restrained performances and stands apart from the typical commercial cinema of that period. It is a quiet, character-driven story rooted in Kerala’s temple festival culture, and it uses that backdrop to explore themes of faith, disillusionment, and human dignity. #blockbuster #malayalamcenima #fypage by @archives.by.dev
🎬Amrutham Gamaya (1987) _Amrutham Gamaya_, meaning “Lead Us to Immortality,” is a 1987 Malayalam medical drama directed by Hariharan and written by M. T. Vasudevan Nair. It stars Mohanlal, Thilakan, Geetha, and Parvathy. The film is regarded as one of the most powerful examinations of medical ethics, ego, and redemption in Indian cinema. *The Story* Mohanlal plays Dr. P. K. Haridas, a brilliant but arrogant surgeon at a medical college hospital. He’s gifted - his hands can perform miracles in the operation theatre. But success has made him proud, impatient with juniors, and dismissive of hospital protocol. He believes talent excuses behavior. The film’s central conflict begins when Dr. Haridas operates on a patient despite warnings from Dr. Sivaraman, played by Thilakan, a senior physician. Haridas is confident, but the surgery goes wrong and the patient dies. What follows isn’t a cover-up, but a moral collapse. Haridas is shattered. The man who thought he was infallible has to face that his ego killed someone. Dr. Sivaraman, who represents the old-school ethical doctor, doesn’t punish him legally. Instead, he forces Haridas to confront himself. Haridas resigns, isolates himself, and spirals into alcoholism and guilt. The second half of the film is his journey back - not to fame, but to humility. He starts working in a small village dispensary, treating poor patients for free, rediscovering why he became a doctor in the first place. Geetha plays Dr. Sreedevi, a colleague who stands by him without romanticizing his fall. Parvathy plays the granddaughter of the patient who died, and her quiet forgiveness becomes the film’s emotional core. *What Makes It Special* M. T. Vasudevan Nair’s writing is the backbone. He doesn’t make Haridas a villain or a hero. He’s a flawed, human genius who has to learn that medicine isn’t about playing God. The dialogues are sparse but heavy. The hospital isn’t shown as glamorous - it’s clinical, bureaucratic, and morally complex. Mohanlal’s performance is one of his earliest “non-star” turns. There’s no fight scene, no comedy, no romance to distract. It’s all internal. by @archives.by.dev
