Happy Feast Day to the house of St Kateri Tekakwitha! May God bless all ecologists, environmentalists, people who have lost their parents, those ridiculed for their piety, and Native Americans, for whom Kateri is your patron. St. Kateri, pray for us! #MDStrong by @archkckcs

The Bishop Miege Stags & Stems Cutting Garden spent a morning this week at @thedonboscocenters teaching seniors the art of flower arrangements.

The garden is maintained by students and community volunteers and has provided arrangements for events and as St. Therese blessings to the community.

The garden is located on the south side of the building next to the chapel. Stop by and take in the beauty of nature! by @archkckcs

Michael Morrissey, the former director of @cefks, served as a long-term substitute teacher for John Paul II School in Overland Park. 🏫 He found the experience so rewarding, he signed on to be a full-time teacher at the school for the upcoming school year. 📝

On May 28–29, more than 140 Catholic school leaders, pastors, advancement professionals, and supporters gathered for the 2026 Catholic School Advancement Conference hosted by the Office of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.

Together, attendees explored innovative ideas, shared best practices, and strengthened their commitment to advancing Catholic education across the @archkck and beyond.

Thank you to our presenters, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees who made this year's conference a success. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, connect, and grow together.

And they’re off! Five students and two chaperones departed this morning for Dunlow, West Virginia, for our first summer mission trip of the season.

What makes this trip especially meaningful is that several participants are returning to Dunlow, including some of our newest alumni, because they wanted another opportunity to serve. There’s something about Dunlow that stays with you long after you leave!

Please keep our students, chaperones, the people of Dunlow, and the many volunteers from high schools across the country serving alongside them in your prayers this week.

A special thank you to our longtime trip leader, Richard Sulzen, whose dedication to this ministry continues to inspire generations of Stags. by @archkckcs

Prior to our Passing of the Light ceremony, we honored several students scholarships. Congratulations to our students who were awarded the following scholarships:

Afterwards, the 8th graders shared their memories of the teachers and staff from their time here at SBCS. This is always a special part of our Passing of the Light ceremony, as the students say goodbye to the men and women who have seen this class grow from preschoolers to soon-to-be high schoolers.

St. Agnes has been recognized by PLTW as both a 2025–26 Distinguished School and a 2025–26 Distinguished Gateway School. These honors recognize schools across the United States for their commitment to providing broad access to transformative STEM learning experiences through PLTW programs. The Distinguished School designation highlights excellence in implementing PLTW Launch, an elementary STEM curriculum, while the Distinguished Gateway School designation recognizes outstanding implementation of PLTW Gateway, a STEM curriculum for students in grades 6–8. This dual recognition reflects St. Agnes’s dedication to fostering innovation, problem-solving, and hands-on learning opportunities for students at every level. #PLTW #stagnesrams by @archkckcs

Some of our favorite end-of-the-year activities include Field Day and the Talent Show. Both events are filled with games, laughter, and opportunities to show off our God-given talents. These are also big events for our 7th graders, as they step up on both of these days as the rising leaders of our school—on Field Day they are the leaders of the different grade-level groups and at the Talent Show, they put on a skit as a class.
