This is in Bangkok… and I had no idea it existed.

Located at True Digital Park, the Glass Pavilion is a contemporary meditation space inspired by traditional Thai architecture.

Glass, wood, water and natural light come together in a space that feels so peaceful 🙏🏻 love it! Bangkok has so many places like this you just have to know where to look.

📍 Glass Pavilion, True Digital Park, Bangkok

Save this one for your Bangkok list.

On the coast of De Panne, Belgium, almost on the border with France, this pentagonal concrete ring rises from the promenade, offering visitors a unique view of the endless beach and the North Sea.

Designed by Studio MOTO and completed in 2024, the structure consists of identical stair segments, connected at 108-degree angles to create a circular path that offers ever-changing perspectives and panoramic views.

More than just an observation platform, it is a panoramic pathway—short but highly engaging, monumental and distinctive yet discreet, and perfectly in tune with its sandy coastal surroundings.

China is expanding floating solar farms by installing panels on water bodies to generate clean energy while preserving valuable land for agriculture.

Instead of using large stretches of farmland or open land, these systems convert unused water surfaces into power-generating zones.

Beyond saving space, floating solar also offers performance benefits. The natural cooling effect of water improves panel efficiency, and the coverage helps reduce water evaporation from reservoirs.

This approach is becoming a key part of China’s renewable energy strategy, combining land conservation with large-scale clean power generation. by @archtruistic

Massive mining blasts can release huge clouds of dust, reducing visibility and affecting air quality. To minimize this, workers position powerful water spray trucks around the blast zone before detonation. As the explosives go off, high-pressure water creates a curtain of fine droplets that captures airborne dust particles and pulls them back to the ground. This simple but highly effective method helps protect workers, nearby equipment, and surrounding communities from excessive dust exposure. It also improves visibility, making it safer for crews to inspect the site after the blast. While the water cannot eliminate every particle, it dramatically reduces the amount of dust that escapes into the air. It's a great example of how engineering and environmental safety work together in modern mining operations to make large-scale blasting cleaner, safer, and more responsible.

Where Does the Water Actually Go? 🌊🌀 Inside the Monticello Dam “Glory Hole”

It looks like a terrifying endless void in the middle of the lake, but it’s actually a brilliant piece of hydraulic engineering. Meet the “Morning Glory” spillway at Monticello Dam.
When heavy rains cause the reservoir to reach maximum level, this massive 72-foot-wide (22m) concrete funnel acts like a giant drain plug. Instead of letting water overflow and catastrophically destroy the dam structure, it safely swallows the excess water.
As you can see in this cross-section analysis, the water drops down a massive 250-foot vertical tunnel and is safely discharged back into the lower riverbed at high velocity.
Engineering is beautiful, isn’t it? 🛠️📐

An exhibition of works by Frank Gehry, the first since his passing in 2025, is on view at Gagosian, Beverly Hills. The presentation was realized in collaboration with the artist’s family and designed by the Gehry studio.

While the celebrated fish sculptures—several examples of which are on view—constitute self-contained works, the “perfect form” of the ancient creature they represent reappears throughout Gehry’s architectural oeuvre, evident in the undulating profiles of such buildings as 2003’s Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi (opening this year).
