Ever had to fix/repair/change something?

Mistakes and miscommunication happen, how you resolve those issues are what defines you as a tradesperson.

Ask around, gather information, debate, formulate a plan and then execute it.

There were various ideas from folk and honestly I think they all would have worked. However I personally felt this was the best and simplest solution.

I’m just glad we hadn’t done our final waterproofing yet 😮‍💨

If you’re renovating and building a shower there are a lot of options out there nowadays.

Foam pans or mud pans are both great options 👌🏼

Drypack shower pans are certainly more work but make for a stronger substrate.

Foam pans are convenient and have certainly come a long way.

These Ardex pans for example can be used with small mosaics whereas most recommend not installing anything smaller than 2” on them.

With mud pans though you have no point load issues or foam compaction so you can certainly install anything on them.

I see a curved wall and I want to paint it black. No mosaics anymore Ardex 8+9 is the fact 👌🏼

Will be installing Coppered/Anthracite Microcement around this curved staircase so prep is key. 🔑

That’s why I use @ardexamericas 8+9 cementitious rapid waterproofing and crack isolation compound 🫶🏻

Drypack day! Time to play in the sand 🏝️

48”x74” bonded flange shower pan is a bit of a beast.

Using @ardexamericas Flexbone Uncoupling membrane as a “bonded slip sheet” for better moisture retention/curing and to help the pan lock in on the subfloor.

After it’s cured I’ll use Ardex 8+9 to install their TLT waterproof sheet membrane/banding and give it a coat or two of 8+9 on top as well👌🏼
