Bloom!

Oh little seed, once nestled within the skin
of a bird-bitten yellow peach,
Now lying lost on the ground, confused and dismayed,

You can curse the bird for snatching parts of yourself away,
You can accuse the wind for plucking you from your branches.
You can stay down on the ground and believe that’s where you belong.

But remember—the same wind that brought you down will carry you to fertile lands.

You can hide beneath the fallen leaves,
but the rain will still water you.
Though you may get covered in mud,
you will break through your shell.

Tiny roots will emerge,
Helping you stand tall once again,
New branches will reach for the sky,
And your leaves will dance with the wind.

You are the seed, and also the tree.
You will bloom again!
