Área de Pícnic is a Lima project by Martín Tokeshi (@martintokeshi )and Nicole Etxeberria (@nicole.etxeberria ) Every garment is drawn by hand with textile paint and markers, so no two pieces are alike. Drops are sold in the comments, and the first person to reply or send a message takes the piece.

It started in 2023 as a way to sell drawings, prints and stickers at an art market inside the university where both of them studied art. It was almost called Lengua de Gato, until they came across Área de Pícnic sitting in a list of Instagram account categories and took it instead.

Both keep separate practices. Tokeshi draws characters into found photographs and Google Street View screenshots, and has a two-person show in Tokyo this November with @byrottenbird. Etxeberria is a printmaker and installation artist, a graduate of the PUCP, and this year won the 2026 ICPNA Artus scholarship for a residency at WIELS in Brussels.

Drops are split in half, one half drawn by each. Collaboration tends to happen by accident, when one of them ruins a design and the other steps in to save it.

Nicole leaves for Brussels this month. Martín is keeping the shop running alone, and plans to drop a shirt a day until she is back. They are also working out international shipping for the first time.
