A few months ago, Areaware shared that it would be closing its doors. It felt, for many of us, like the loss of something special. We’re very glad to share that this is not the end of Areaware: Piecework has acquired Areaware, and we’ll be carrying it forward into its next chapter. Areaware will continue as its own brand, with its own voice and designers intact. We’re honored to preserve what made it so special, and to build thoughtfully on what’s come before. More to come soon 🫶 An Update on Areaware’s Next Chapter by @areaware

How to even begin summing up 20+ years of design, community, and friendship? We have worked with so many amazing designers and creatives, and made more memories than we can count. We feel so lucky. 🥹 To our designers: there are so many of you not mentioned here, only because we can’t fit everyone into 20 slides. We deeply appreciate every single one of you—you’re all integral to our brand story. by @areaware

We first met @jamespaulius thirteen years ago and started producing his design, Blockitecture, as soon as he graduated from university. Over the course of eleven years, we launched fifteen distinct sets, creating an entire Blockitecture system for young people (and grown-ups) to build their own worlds with. 🌇 by @areaware

Picture book author and illustrator @rillaalexander came to work with Areaware by way of a real-life friendship, so it only makes sense that everything she created with us is a reflection of that. Rilla’s designs, Shape Stamps and Palimals, are a reminder that the best objects always have a story to tell. ❤️ P.S. Palimals are now 50% off—a perfect time to collect some new friends. by @areaware
