I’ve tried to think of 100 ways to start this because I have so much to say and I want to do it justice but ultimately you just have to start don’t you?

I’m sitting in the airport about to head back to Sydney and guys, that was just the most phenomenal month. I fell in love with old friends all over again, I made new brilliant ones; I cried, I danced, I drank, and I laughed. God I laughed so much! And I just wish I could tell my mum about it. I wish I could tell her how my friends have continued to grow into the most extraordinary people. I wish I could tell her how I brought her up in literally every single conversation. I wish I could tell her about those conversations. How my friends listened hard and loved harder. I felt so held and so seen and I had so much fun!! Which seems crazy doesn’t?? Except honestly not at all. Grief is love. Grief is joy. Life is a full on fricking circle baby!!

Violette once shared with me a quote by Kahlil Gibran: “The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain”, and I’ve never forgotten it. God it makes me cry just to read it now. I’ve never understood it more fully than in this month. Every night I would go to bed so happy and so in awe of that feeling. So in awe of what grief can contain. What the body can contain. It’s incredible.

Wow guys!! Nuts!! I love my friends. I love my family. I love my mum. And goddammit if I don’t love crying in a public space. Chase joy kids, it’s worth it every single time xxx taken in Angel, London by @areeadnee
