People talk about “once-in-a-lifetime opportunities” like they’re magic keys to success. Let me tell you something: opportunity doesn’t mean anything without effort. You can have the perfect idea, the right connections, the timing lined up just right…but if you’re not willing to execute with relentless consistency, it’s worthless.Everybody thinks success is about being lucky or “getting discovered.” No. Success is built in the trenches, day after day, while no one’s paying attention. When that so-called opportunity shows up, it only pays off if you’ve already put in the work to be ready for it. Otherwise, it passes you by and goes to someone else who actually deserves it.Opportunity meets effort- that’s the formula. That’s where the doors open. That’s where winning happens. You don’t need to sit around waiting for someone to hand you your big break. There are two aspects you must master when it comes to being a great leader.The first aspect is leading by example.Nobody is going to trust or believe you if you aren’t willing to do the same work you’re asking of them.You have to execute the plan daily....but this isn’t where most leaders struggle.Most leaders struggle with the second aspect of being a great leader which is this:You must hold your team and the people you lead accountable.That means you have to learn to tell the truth.Say it clearly.Say it directly.Say it often.Even if it makes your voice shake.The only way to reinforce the standard in a team and push the people you lead to perform at the highest level possible is by telling them the hard truths they need to hear to get better.If they’re cutting corners...If they’re falling short on the standard......or if they’re messing up...It is your job as a leader to tell them and hold them accountable to the actions needed to improve.Being “nice” and tiptoeing around the real truth to avoid hurting someone’s feelings is ineffective leadership.It’s also dishonest and keeps them and the rest of the team from getting better and winning.Nobody likes it when you hold them accountable.A lot of people will hate you for it....But even if they hate you for it now...They’ll learn to love you in the future because you told them the truth and pushed them to improve when nobody else did.That’s what it takes to be a great leader. by @aretesyndicate

It doesn’t matter how talented and fired up you are; you’re human, so your levels of motivation will ebb and flow from moment to moment and day to day. MOTIVATION IS BASED ON EMOTIONS, and unless you’re a robot, you will experience swings that can impact your output and results.You can still be wildly successful, but if you rely primarily on the energy that motivation gives you, you’re operating below peak capacity.However, when you pair motivation with DISCIPLINE, you create a framework that combines two ESSENTIAL QUALITIES to propel you in the right direction at maximum SPEED and EFFICIENCY.Discipline is critical because it allows you to…See the BIGGER PICTURE.Develop the right skills and talents.Focus on the PROCESS, not the outcome.Be insanely CONSISTENT.And minimize impacts on your output when you’re not motivated. by @aretesyndicate

The title of “Leader” is not given...It’s earned....and it’s earned by serving the people you lead through your actions and example.Most people think otherwise.They think that being a leader is being “in charge” and telling people what to do.They think that having “a title” makes you a leader.They think that they have to wait to lead until someone tells them they are a leader....But this, among many other reasons, is why most people are shitty leaders.Leadership is organic.It’s not a title.It’s not a position.It’s not a “right.”It’s earned through action.Being a great leader is no different than being the tip of a spear...It’s the dirtiest, bloodiest, and most damaged.Which means if you want to establish yourself as a leader...You have to go first.You have to hold yourself and THEN your team to a high standard.You have to drop your ego and be willing to admit when you fuck up.You have to audit your actions and intent.You have to put the mission first over everything … even yourself.You have to make plenty of difficult decisions that not everyone is going to agree with.You have to seek discomfort and train your team to do the same....and you have to do these things consistently with 0 compromise.Only then can you earn the ability to be seen as a leader amongst your team.Yes ... being a great leader is hard as fuck....But it’s also required for the success of the team and the mission.The world needs more real leaders.You are supposed to be one of them……or you wouldn’t be reading this. by @aretesyndicate
