Our Trophy arrived! The Architect's Newspaper 2026 Winner in Historic Preservation. Thank you to everyone who made this achievement possible! by @arg.create
We had a blast this past weekend at LEAP's 44th annual Sandcastle Classic at Ocean Beach in San Francisco, an event that brings students and AEC industry professionals together for a fun and creative competition. This year, we teamed up with John Yehall Chin Elementary School, Pullman, Menard USA, and Strandberg Engineering to bring the theme "Bay Area Vibes" to life. Drawing inspiration from the students' sketches and playdough models, our team created a sandcastle that celebrated some of SF's most beloved sights, from Coit Tower and Pier 39's sea lions to the city's famous fog. Thank you to @leap_arts, @youthartx and everyone who helped make this event so memorable. Go Sand Francisco Sculptors! by @arg.create

We are excited to announce that Ariane Fehrenkamp has joined ARG! With more than 20 years of experience with adaptive reuse and new construction, Ariane brings a passion for thoughtful design and the opportunities that come with transforming existing places. In her role as Associate Principal, Ariane will help grow ARG’s architecture practice, exploring new opportunities for design, impact, and collaboration. “Architecture is a social art. The quality of our surroundings directly impacts the quality of our lives. Everyone deserves a built environment designed with poetry, inclusiveness, and optimism.” Welcome, Ariane! by @arg.create

The Lorenzo Theater suffered a major fire in June 2020, collapsing the roof and significantly damaging the lobby and balcony. ARG is the prime architect and conservator for the theater’s rehabilitation. Last Friday, some of our team members toured the site in San Lorenzo to observe construction progress, including the restoration of a rare blacklight mural designed by the late Anthony B. Heinsbergen. This project is funded by @alamedacountyca and is scheduled to be completed in 2026. #Architecture #Restoration #HistoricPreservation #SanLorenzo #Theater by @arg.create
ARG is proud to be working on two residential rebuilds in Altadena for families who lost their homes to the Eaton Fire. The designs build off each family’s unique sensibilities. The first involves a modern floor plan nestled into an oddly shaped lot that uses pitched roofs to filter natural light, capture rainwater, and make the efficient floorplan feel larger. The second is a mid-century inspired design featuring an A-framed space that visually connects an exterior courtyard to the living room and creates a space any pianist would love to play in. #architecture #rebuild #residential #housing #altadena by @arg.create
