Happy 18th Birthday to my baby, Estevanico! 🎂🥳❤️

18 years ago, you came into my life and changed it forever.

And today, I look at you and I’m just… PROUD.

Proud of the little boy you were.
Proud of the teenager you became.
Proud of the athlete who chased his goals.
Proud of the graduate who made Mama so proud.
And now, SO proud of the young man who packed up, left home, and became a whole MOREHOUSE MAN! 🖤❤️

I hope you know that there is nothing you could ever accomplish that would make me love you more. I loved you before the medals, before the graduation, before Morehouse.

I simply love you because you are YOU.

Today you officially turn 18, and although you’re stepping into adulthood, you’ll always be the little boy who made me a mama. 🥹

I wish I could be there to celebrate with you today, but please know that my heart is right there with you. ❤️

Go enjoy YOUR day. Make memories. Laugh. Celebrate. Be 18!

ONE DAY UNTIL 18… Tomorrow my baby turns 18, and I’m sitting here wondering how we got here so fast.

I keep looking at these pictures and seeing every version of you — the little boy, the growing boy, the athlete, the graduate… and now this young man starting his next chapter at Morehouse.

I’m so incredibly proud of you and everything you’ve become.

But I’m not going to lie… Mama is a little sad that I won’t wake up tomorrow and get to see my baby on his birthday.

You’re away at school, living your life, making memories and becoming the man you’re supposed to be.

And as happy as that makes me, there’s a tiny part of me wishing I could freeze time and have you home for just one more birthday.

But I’ll celebrate you from right here, and I’ll make sure you feel every ounce of Mama’s love from wherever I am. Apparently, Mama has to learn how to celebrate her baby from a distance. 😭❤️

Two more days until my baby turns 18. 🥹🎂

I’ve spent the last several days going through pictures, and honestly, the biggest thing I keep thinking is…

How did I get so lucky to be your mama?

I’ve watched you grow from a little boy into a young man with dreams, goals, and a whole future waiting for you.

And now you’re out there at Morehouse, creating a life of your own. 🏛️🖤❤️

I hope you know how deeply you are loved. I hope you know how proud I am of you. And I hope you never forget that no matter where life takes you, you will always have your mama in your corner.

Two days, Estevanico. 🥹

And yes… I’m still counting. 😂🎂

I really don’t know how my little boy got this close to 18, but here we are. 🥹❤️

I’ve watched you grow from that little boy in these pictures into a young man who is now off at Morehouse starting a whole new chapter.

And while I’m incredibly proud of everything you’ve accomplished, I’m even more proud of who you are becoming.

Independent. Determined. Funny. Stubborn as hell 😂… and still MY baby. ❤️

So yes, I’m going to keep posting these pictures until September 13 because I carried you, I raised you, and I have the archives. 😂📸

4 DAYS UNTIL 18… And somehow, I’m still sitting here wondering how this little boy…became THIS guy.

The older you get, the more I realize that being your mama has been one of the greatest adventures of my life.

I’ve watched you grow, figure things out, make mistakes, get back up, chase your goals, and become a young man I’m incredibly proud of.

And now you’re off at Morehouse, making memories, building your own life, and probably enjoying the fact that Mama can’t ask you 47 questions every time you walk through the door. 😂😂

But don’t worry…

I’m still asking the questions. I just have to text/call now. 🤣

18 is almost here, baby.

And no matter how old you get, I’ll always be somewhere in the background cheering you on, embarrassing you with childhood pictures, and reminding you that I was there FIRST. 😂❤️

5 DAYS UNTIL 18… I really don’t know how we got here so fast.

One minute I was taking pictures of a little boy who thought he was the funniest person on earth… and now I’m scrolling through pictures of a grown man at Morehouse like, “Wait… whose child is this?!”

You’ve grown, you’ve changed, you’ve challenged me, you’ve made me laugh, you’ve made me proud, and yes… you’ve definitely made me want to pull my hair out a few times. 😂

But through every stage, every age, every version of you, there has been one constant:

I have loved being your mama. ❤️

18 is coming whether I’m ready or not.

So for the next 5 days, I’m going to keep embarrassing you with these pictures because apparently that’s one of the perks of being my child.

And just remember…
18 may make you an adult, but it does NOT make you grown in your mama’s house. 😂😂❤️

6 DAYS until this boy turns 18! I’m still trying to figure out how we went from “Mom, can you help me?” to “Mom, I’m good” so damn fast! 😂

I swear I blinked and you went from a little boy running around the house to a whole Morehouse Man living in Atlanta and doing his own thing.

Looking at these pictures, I see so many versions of you — the silly you, the competitive you, the sweet you, the stubborn you 😂… and every version has been a part of the young man standing here today.

I wouldn’t trade a single chapter.

Enjoy being 17 while you can… because Mama is about to start calling you an ADULT (probably not 😂😂😂)

7 days. Just ONE week until you’re 18!

And today, I’m not thinking about the little boy you were. I’m thinking about the young man you’ve become.

I’ve watched you grow through so many seasons of life. I’ve watched you win, lose, work, struggle, laugh, learn, mature and keep moving forward.

And now here you are…

18 years old. A high school graduate. A college student. An athlete. A son. A brother. A young man with an entire life ahead of him.

Sometimes I look at you and still see that little boy. And then I remember… you’re becoming your own person now.

That’s the beautiful—and heartbreaking—part of motherhood.

My job was never to keep you little.

It was to love you, guide you, prepare you, and eventually let you step into the world and become everything you were meant to be.

I hope you always know that no matter how old you get, how far you travel, or how big your dreams become… you will ALWAYS be my baby. ❤️

8 days until 18… and today we’re going ALL the way back to the beginning. 🥹🏃🏾‍♂️

Before the PRs.
Before the medals.
Before Regionals.
Before Morehouse.
Before I was watching you run the 400 and 800 and realizing just how far you could go…

There was this little boy. ❤️

These pictures take me back to the very beginning of your track journey. The little athlete who was just out there running, competing, learning and having fun — with absolutely no idea where those little legs were going to take him.

And now I look at you and think… WOW.

You didn’t just grow taller. You grew stronger, faster, more determined and more confident. Track became a part of your story, and watching that journey unfold has been one of my favorite things to witness.

From that little boy with a race number pinned to his chest…
to the young man getting ready to take on his next chapter.

8 days until 18.

And if I could tell that little boy one thing, it would be:

“Keep running, baby. You have no idea how far you’re going to go.”

Mama will always be standing on the sidelines cheering the loudest and complaining 😂🏃🏾‍♂️❤️

Somewhere between the little boy who needed me for EVERYTHING and the young man who is now off at Morehouse living his best life… the years just flew by.

I look at these pictures and see so many different versions of you. The little boy, the athlete, the brother, the goofball, the dreamer…

And now I see a young man beginning to write his own story. ❤️

I’m so proud of the person you’re becoming, even if I’m still trying to figure out how we got here so fast! 😂

10 DAYS until we celebrate Estevanico!

Before he was a Morehouse Man… before he was a track athlete… before he was all grown up and living away from home…

He was a little boy with a big heart. ❤️

And then he became a big brother. 🥹

Watching him with his sisters over the years has given me so many memories to hold onto. From helping take care of them when they were little to all the laughs, arguments, and chaos that come with being siblings.

And somewhere in between all of that, there was THIS little boy… eating popsicles, playing basketball, getting soaking wet, and keeping life interesting!

Looking at these pictures now just makes my heart smile.

10 DAYS until we celebrate the little boy who grew into an amazing young man. 🥹❤️

❤️ The countdown continues…

Before he became the young man he is today, Estevanico was already giving us a whole lot of personality! 😂

From the serious little face like he had somewhere important to be… to dressing like a tiny businessman in his suit and Jordans 😂… to playing with Buzz Lightyear, building with Legos, and apparently starting his music career on the drums! 🥁

Looking back at these pictures makes me smile because the personality was ALWAYS there. ❤️

He may be at Morehouse now, but this little boy will forever live in my heart. ❤️🖤

And let’s be honest… I still see a little bit of this serious-faced baby in him today! 😂
