This year, I personally think too many guests showed up in mundane outfits. The point isn’t to look pretty (though that’s a plus) - it’s to contribute to the concept set by the host. It’s fashion’s biggest night and happens only once a year. You might as well go all out.

Given how broad the dress code was, far too many men came wearing black or plain suits. Why not wear print or bolder colours? Even putting paint on a suit would have met the bare minimum.

I’m also surprised not more people went for Thom Browne or Schiaparelli, considering they do designs that incorporate the body in a visually striking way. Or even Iris Van Herpen? They have so many visually stunning and meaningful designs!

I just wished someone did eg. a Miss Sohee shell look to reference Venus in the Half Shell. Or reference the Mona Lisa or something iconic? Just feels like there were so many missed opportunities….
