My feature screenplay ROOTS OF CONFLICT has won the Big Indie Pictures Fellowship at the @austinfilmfest !The fellowship selects one feature each year — whether in the Drama or Comedy category — from a writer with a “distinctive voice and a fresh perspective on contemporary themes, highlighting stories that feel both original and independently producible.”As part of the award, I’ll participate in a six-month mentorship program with Big Indie Pictures, receiving creative and industry guidance to further develop (and potentially produce) the project.Founded in 2006 and based in New York, Big Indie Pictures is known for acclaimed films such as Still Alice, Manchester by the Sea, and Captain Fantastic, as well as collaborations on series and films like Swarm, Daisy Jones & The Six, The Underground Railroad, and Being the Ricardos. The company also recently produced Michael Shannon’s directorial debut, Eric LaRue.Can’t wait to dive into this next chapter and collaborate with the incredible Big Indie team. by @ari_mostow
