This weekend was the McKinney Asian Art & Food Festival! I went on Friday evening and enjoyed seeing the art, music, and of course the food. This is what I got:

🍵 Creme brulee matcha from @keki.japanesecheesecake
🧇 Ube croffle and cheese croc-fle from @cocoscroffles

It was a charming free event right by historic downtown McKinney.

Let's travel back in time with my footage of Haunted Castle Cafe, a horror restaurant that was in Plano TX in 2024-2025. 😭 I decided to not get anything aside from a dessert since they just had overpriced American style food. The closest to horror themed dishes was their hamburger which had olives for monster eyes, and this vanilla cake which had syrup like blood splatter. 🩸 Our waiter was Art the clown from Terrifier! A pity they shut down, all they would need to do is add themed dishes and keep things clean. 🐀

Today I went to Chicha San Chen because they had a collab with Heartsteel from League of Legends! This in-universe boy band just dropped their second music video 3 years after the first one, both of which were animated by @sauvagetv
So many people showed up at the Carrollton TX location to get the Heartsteel set. It cost $10 and included a honey cassia black milk tea, one random bandmate card, and a hang tag. 🧋🫶

I went to Hill & Moon Asian Retro Cafe which recently opened in Lewisville TX! The owners did an amazing job on decorating the space to make it look like a late showa era home. Scroll to view the space and menu items ➡️📼📺🕹️
Of course, the food I got with @randomeatswithme was fantastic! Our treats:

🍵 Matcha summer latte
🍓 Strawberry croffle
🍠 Ube pecan mochi donut
🫘 Red bean bao bun

We will be back!

Suya tacos from Osuma Suya, a cool Nigerian to-go restaurant in McKinney TX. The suya beef was really good, similar to jerky. Beware as the sauce has a high spice level! 🥵

On Sunday after brunch, we went to Lapin Cafe and Patisserie in downtown Carrollton TX! The family took over this space after Everything Madeline moved to Plano. We got a pumpkin pie matcha and an ube matcha. They used high quality matcha, pumpkin puree, and ube halaya. We also got a set of 6 financers. 🧑‍🍳

On Saturday I went to @toridori_tx for their Kingdom Hearts fan event. 🗝️ Since I RSVP'd, they gave a mini print of Kairi fanart. They also had a Kairi shrine to honor her VA Hayden Panettiere. It was Dia de los Muertos themed since Coco will be in KH4! What I bought:

⭐ Paopu Fruit tea with star jellies
🖤 Goth Sora keychain by @lukabooga
😸 Cat loaf sticker by @seeu4hope
