Hora e Arbëreshëvet (Italian: Piana degli Albanesi). Visiting this town was like stepping through a time portal, yet it felt strikingly familiar—particularly those beautiful mountains that always seem to offer us Albanians peace. Nestled in the heart of Sicily, this remarkable community has preserved our language and traditions for over 500 years, along with our renowned hospitality. I received warm embraces and greetings from everyone I walked past as I was taking my little pictures; they happily told me that this place is also my home—even the Italian locals. How beautiful is that?

I was most of all thrilled to finally hear our beautiful, archaic Albanian dialect, and talk with my new friends; it was like conversing with history itself, reminiscent of the era of Skenderbeu.

Pasolini described this community as an “anthropological miracle,” and he couldn’t have been more accurate. Every step here reconnected me with my roots, so a big thank you from me to a community that feels—and truly is—like family. 💖 taken in Piana degli Albanesi - Hora e Arbëreshëvet by @arianakra

Today, I had the great honor of being invited to meet Prime Minister @albinkurti_ at his office to discuss my work on social media, as well as my decision to return to live in my home country, Kosova. Words cannot express how touched I am by the overwhelming support I’ve received from my people since the very beginning, and for this recognition by our PM. Thank you all. by @arianakra
