Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend a Sony master class on storytelling here in Benin, organized by @StoryMiAcademy. During the session, we were challenged to create a short presentation about ourselves and our work. It was an amazing experience to share my story in front of master facilitators and talented creatives. I'm truly grateful for the opportunity and for everyone who contributed to making this event so impactful. A huge thank you to all who made this journey unforgettable! #Sony #StoryMiAcademy #BeninStoryWalk by @ariaye_taribo

THE DAWN. A third eye in the room, just observing. Nobody knew there was a camera, just life happening. The breeze, the trees, the light, kids running around, and strangers coming together with different colours to contribute to one goal. Looking back, the bigger picture was never just the mural, but the community being built around it. Everyone bringing something different, yet contributing to something meaningful. A moment in time, captured to live forever. ๐ŸŽจ Thanks to @arteria_theonlinegallery and all the contributors for bringing this to light. A drive through my hard drive. NLNG Award Night โœจ Professor Wole Soyinka, Nigerian playwright, poet, essayist and political voice, made history in 1986 as the first African to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature. Hearing him speak in person makes the experience even more amazing. Such a privilege to witness a legend like this. Some moments become more than photographs; they become stories I will tell my children. โค๏ธ by @ariaye_taribo
NLNG Award Night โœจ Beautiful moments with beautiful storytellers. From Professor Wole Soyinka, whose contributions to the creative industry have been a blessing to generations, to the voices telling our stories in their own unique ways. Sometimes, the little things matter. We had some moments outside the buzz and rush of the city. A journey from Benin City to Ogbinbiri Town, Warri North, Delta State. It was a beautiful experience. We swam, played football, laughed, ran around, and just had a good time. For a moment, we were just kids again. No city rush, no pressure, just being present and enjoying the little things. This is just a snippet of the full adventure. More coming through. ๐ŸŒฟ #HueCreate #NigerDelta #Ogbinbiri #Egbema #WarriNorth DeltaState VillageLife BackToBeingKids CreativeCommunity by @ariaye_taribo
Independence Dey Walk (Work) 2026 ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ“ธ Came out with one question: Is Independence Day really a thing in the city of Benin? The idea was simple โ€” walk through the city and see if we could find the green and white in it. A photowalk with my friends @ayothefilmmaker a and @thegidotti , seeing the city through our different eyes. The fun was in the little details โ€” the things one person noticed that another might have walked past. And honestly, I think we found our answer. Thereโ€™s still a little piece of independence in our hearts for Benin. ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค Oh Yes I see Father Christmas for October 1st. ๐ŸŽ… #IndependenceDeyWalk #IndependenceDay2026 #BeninCity #BeninCityPhotography #Photowalk StreetPhotography NigeriaAt64 VisualStorytelling Nigeria GreenAndWhite by @ariaye_taribo
AKURE IN 24 HOURS ๐ŸŒ† Throwback to March 2025 when we decided to explore the whole of Akure in 24 hours. We didnโ€™t have a tour guide, so we went online, searched through hashtags and found two amazing creatives, @alexa_balz and @ozoneel_arts @ozone_el , who became our unofficial tour guides for the day. ๐Ÿ˜‚ We explored Akure from an artistโ€™s and storytellerโ€™s perspective โ€” from Dido Art Gallery, Aristo, Manuex Park and City Dome, to hiking through the hills of Akure. Honestly, Akure is beautiful. The hills, the views, the people and the creative scene made the whole experience worth it. โค๏ธ 24 hours. One city. July 22, 2026 โ€” Mom went to be with the Lord. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ The last few months have taught me that grief and change aren't the best of friends. Life changes in ways you never prepare for, and you learn to carry the memories while finding your way forward. They say you never really โ€œhealโ€ from losing someone you love. Maybe that's true. You simply learn to live with the love, the memories, and the space they left behind. But I know that, by God's grace, everything will be fine. Our greatest victory is knowing that in Christ, we do not die; we have eternal life. > โ€œJesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.โ€ โ€” John 11:25 (KJV) So, Mom, I won't say goodbye. I'll simply say goodnight, until we meet again on resurrection morning. Once again, thank you to everyone who stood by me and my family through this season โ€” for the calls, prayers, support, love, and kindness. God bless you all richly. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ by @ariaye_taribo
MUD, MEMORY, AND MEANING (THE LOST ARCHITECTURE OF BENIN) by Taribo Sunday Ariaye & Anedu Isioma Chukwudalu At the Roots and Roofs Final Showcase, Mud, Memory, and Meaning brought the architectural heritage of the Benin Kingdom into physical form. Handmade mud blocks were assembled on-site to create a building structure, accompanied by a pictorial representation imagining an entire community built with mud architecture. Detailed photographs of the blocks and their making further highlighted the materials, techniques and indigenous knowledge behind Beninโ€™s traditional built environment. Roots and Roofs Project is an initiative of the Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilisation (CBAAC) @cbaac77 implemented in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Nigeria @goetheinstitut_nigeria , British Council @ngbritish , Embassy of Spain @embespnigeria , Embassy of Ireland @irlembnigeria , National Troupe of Nigeria @national_troupe_of_nigeria ,The Institute of African and Diaspora Studies @theiads_ Roots and Roofs is supported by Spaces of Culture, part of the wider Africa-Europe Partnerships for Culture programme funded by the European Union @eunicglobal . The programme encourages cooperation between African and European artists, creators, and cultural professionals, supporting cultural relations projects in Sub-Saharan African countries based on equal partnerships and local ownership. by @ariaye_taribo
